Doctrine brother, doctrine.

Doctrine defines how an equipment is applied. This is why you won't see the CH-3A UCAV been launched from the middle of Sambisa forest and small tactical Army drones wont be launched from an airbase in Yola or TAC in Makurdi.

Doctrine.
those DJI quadcopter are limited by range within 3 to 5 km,now what if you want to monitor a region beyond 20 ,50,100 km !now your CH3A operate from air bases and they are several, who is going to monitor those gaps left behind by DJI quad copter and the few CH-3A you have !

You were born speaking English and you lack the ability to comprehend simple English?

UAS- Radio-Remote controlled data link
UAV/UCAV- Radar or satellite data link.

Who the hell controls a UAS with a radar data link? Mr man You are just unworldly.
English is not your mother tongue, hence reason for your bad comprehension. I can help you by relating my write-up in Swahili.

Does it look to you that we lack surveillance assets in Nigeria?

are u not confusing urself already?

now...The gulma is used by the NAF and not NA...in the event of the NAF's Op gama aiki or Op lafiya dole with NA..the gulma takes off from the FOB

on the field of play itself the army has it's quad copters and ichoku drone(which is like the raven)
Is the Ichoku a licensed copy of the RQ-11?
Or
It was built from scratch by Nigerian engineers?

Uhm yes they do!

When I was in Matric I saw a guy at West Gate Mall walking past 3 police officers while he was wearing a Soldier 2000 Jacket.. Officers didn't do anything, they just looked at him.
Most cops don't know all the laws in the country. Does not mean it is not illegal. I mean most people don't know it is illegal. Though really I don't see the issue with a cap or jacket here and there. The issue is in fully uniform and impersonating a solder or police officer since that means you probably doing something really illegal.

You obviously know I knew that already. In short, spark gap is a radar system. grin grin grin Your comment doesn't change anything.
Go dip into radar systems then come argue with me.

Am done. I am not ready to derail this thread but when you're done learning about radar systems, you can mention me.

its a miracle that we can see ugandan troops with RQ-11 Raven UAS/V but never have we ever seen a nigeria soldier/airman e.t.c using a ichoku drone or Gulma UAV in northeastern or niger delta !!! i can even show several UAS/V after having technical difficulties have crush landed in alshabaab controlled territory

Live in Potch, home to the School of tactical intelligence, 1 tactical intelligence regiment, 4 Artillery Regiment, Artillery mobile regiment, Regiment De La Ray and Regiment Mooirivier.....and in the 4 years I've been living here, I've not once seen a civilian wearing any sort of SANDF uniform.
the large ratio of solders to civilian population is why. Cops may not know it is illegal but solders do and do the Military police. All so a solder may wear his jacked in joburg where no one knows who he is and chance of bumping in to solder is slim. But in a heavily militarized area chances are some Warrant officer will stop you since it is against regulation to mix civilian and military uniform. So you are less likely to see a civilian dressed in a uniform since I a civilian will get something wrong and end up being questioned on it.

why would there need to be pics of the Gulma being used. It being controlled from a airbase and I highly doubt NAF would want the operates photographed while they busy.

The Gulma maybe be a basic UAV but it seems cheap and easy to build perfect for doing recon or keeping a high on something. The Raven is a small light UAV used by solders in the field to basically see what is behind that hill or some similar job. It slow, got a limited range and limt loiter time
