fair enough, but things could become sticky if one decides to pay bulk rent for multiple months or chooses to study a semester or two outside Germany

quote author=praiseovie post=49826288]

first of all, the money is currently €8790 (€150 is the bank charges). so you are only allowed to access €720 per month (times 12 months= €8640), from this Deutsche bank blocked account for foreign students, which you can activate after you have gotten to Germany successfully and secured accommodation and other little process/registrations.
if you get to Germany and have some other form of way to earn money, then that money can be there in the blocked account just relaxing and waiting for you to come and withdraw anytime.
Any month you don't withdraw at all, or you withdraw less than the €720, the extra Balance adds up to the next €720 of the following month, enabling you to withdraw more than the stipulated 720.
but if along the line, you don't go to Germany again after already getting the account and funding it, perhaps change of mind or due to visa rejection. the only way you can get your money refunded back is to send another required application documents to the deutsche bank for closing of the account. it can take weeks or months for the whole processing. it takes #Patience... no Jonathan... cheesy[/quote]

How reliable is nipost? I'm planning to certify my documents at the embassy come October 4 and plan to send it out to uni-assist the same day at the nipost office at adeola odeku. I have till 31st Oct for my deadline and I don't know if my documents will get to Germany before 31st October using nipost.

Please anyone with nipost experience should advise.

Thanks.
If you want your documents to get to Germany within one week through NIPOST, send it as ordinary mail, don't register it. I've done it twice using the one in ikeja.

Is there any other way one can show proof of English without writing exam or letter from your school?

My school said I have to pay 20,000 naira for just a letter.

For this recession period? angry
Your Moniker, Funny grin grin instead of giving your school 20k, the best option is to add money and write IELTS and you will be on the safe Lane..

It seems like all the winter guys are out already. Well, I wish everyone grace in their pursuit here. I must say that this forum has been very helpful to me and so many other individuals.

I knew I wanted to go to Germany, but it would have been quite onerous without the information I got from this wonderful forum.

I don't think you will be bounced. I saw someone at the embassy sometimes ago that came to present such; and they collected it from him. However, send a mail to the embassy regarding that, they will surely reply you.

I will advise you to use better courier due to the timeline to avoid story that touch. Using NIPOST is a risk IMO. Another better way is, if you see anyone travelling to Germany soon, you can link up with the person. Shalom

1. Generally, you will be required to certify the photocopies of your degree certificate. But the specific documents to certify can only be stated by the school you are applying to.
2. Certifying at the German embassy is free. But you can also certify at the courts at a fee. The fees charged depends on the court you are using.
