op, thank God you said you have read the bible so I believe you came across were it was written that-

1). "for it is appointed unto man once to die and after that comes judgement".

You also did read that-

2)."Lazarus died and went to heaven while the rich man died and went to hell and when the rich man looked up, he saw Lazarus sitting at the bossom of Abraham. The rich man cried to Abraham to permit Lazarus to dip his finger into water and drop it on his tongue but Abraham replied saying- BETWEEN WERE YOU ARE AND HERE, IS A DIP PIT THAT NOBODY CAN CROSS"

3)."The rich man again demanded that he should be allowed to go back to the world to tell his relatives of how hot and uncomfortable hell fire is but Abraham also replied saying- THERE ARE PREACHERS AND PROPHETS ON EARTH...."

OP, please their is no repentance in hell. The earth is where you have all your chance.

Believe it or not, I did read the Bible, and I don't recall it actually explicitly stating "Once you are in Hell, you no longer have any chance for forgiveness, for Redemption."

That doesn't seem too Christian lets assume for a moment there's a Hell and some people are down there praying to Jesus, begging for forgiveness, begging to be forgiven for not believing in the twisted corrupt Churches while they were on earth, and will Jesus just ignores them?

The Jesus I imagine wouldn't ignore them, not even if they were in Hell, the Jesus I know wouldn't be that petty. He doesn't care if they screwed up & they're in Hell....He would forgive them and go get them to heaven

grin you funny.

Well nobody currently on earth has been to hell, so experiential knowledge may not help us here.

I guess what I can do is give you a summary of what I think to be true. I'm Catholic by the way. smiley

Hell is not a place God sends one to when they die. Rather hell is a voluntary choice of the individual who while on earth rejected God and his Christ and his commandments.

People in hell are not there against their wish they are there because it's their choice.

The kind of life you live here on earth will determine where you end up. So it's more like you pronouncing that judgment for yourself.

Hell is basically a total separation from God. It's not a place. It's a state of being.

So when a human being closes his eyes to death here on earth, he opens them in eternity.

At that moment his judgment is served.

If he opens his eyes in eternity and he beholds God, he is in heaven. But if he opens his eyes and doesn't see God he is in hell.

Or souls were created to have a great affinity for God, somewhat like a metal and magnet. The reason why we can't feel it here on earth is because our flesh and the creature comforts we all chase around act like insulators. (That's why you fast when you want your prayers answered).

Once your soul is free of your flesh, signified by death, it feels a terrible hunger for its Creator for whom it was created in the first place.

This infinitely unbearable hunger is satisfied when the soul opens its eyes and sees God and is united to its Creator.

The soul in hell can never see God and the terrible hunger and thirst for God continues for all eternity.

Note that it's not because God isn't there for it to see, but because the soul went to eternity spiritually dead. It's just like a blind man. He can't see the sun. Yet the sun is shining in the sky.

I hope someone read my epistle. grin

The truth according to the bible, no one is presently in hell. Judgement has not taken place. What we have now is souls trapped inbetween. The ones who wer godly and dead now are just asleep. In revelations, Jesus reveled to John that the dead would be judge first with only those souls asleep ascending to heaven. Other souls are facing hell. Such soul cannot gain forgiveness. Then after, those living will be judged but the ones who do not make it will be given second chance. And that's tribulation before the souls would be separated again. You could read it, its pretty interesting.

For instance, I stumbled on this is morning...Revelation 20:1-3 "Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while."

My dear no one knows and you shouldn't give a chance to beg for forgiveness when you have the chance of doing the will of God on earth and inherit eternal life.

But mind you, the fear of hell should not make you serve God but you should serve Him in spirit and in truth and when you do this, there is no chance of going to hell smiley
Did I hear u say "No one knows" Stop deceiving yourself, the scripture is explicit on this subject. Sinners will go to hell, and hell its self will be thrown into the lake of fire, with all its occupants.
God is not unjust to leave us without answers to the life after.Rightous souls go to heaven, sinners end up in the hell first, then lake of fire after their judgment.
He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit is saying.

Hi Berlynn,

"For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body, but made alive in the spirit, in which He also went and preached to the spirits in prison, who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ark was being built. In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water." - 1 Pet 3:18-20.

Not like I know stuff or anything, Just sharing. No soul goes to waste with God. NONE! is condemned. He either saves ALL or saves NONE. But since he said he will save ALL, then He meant it. I haven't died sha, so I can not tell yet LOL. Except to answer you using same scriptures from which you asked your questions.

About Hell, "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." - Rev 20:14. Hell apparently isn't eternal, it has an end.

Upon reading scriptures thoroughly, Everything about God is ONE, hence God's judgement isn't apart from His Love, neither is his wrath apart from His righteousness. Only wicked people that do not understand these workings separate them and threaten a people with the fear of wrath and Hell.

Some people propose it is the ones who do not believe that will use their freewill to go to Hell. That God is loving but he will allow them the choice they make/made. But that sounds quite ridiculous if you asked me. Here's why: "the Living One. I was dead, and behold, now I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hell" - Rev 1:18. This same one that holds the keys of death and hell is said to have this mission - "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" - John 3:17. How will the one said to save rather than condemn, whom also has seized the keys of death and hell, fail at his mission because of an irresponsive attitude towards Love? Was he not the same one that asked us to "love our enemies and pray for them?" - Matt 5:44 Ridiculous? I think the same. If he can't keep his own laws, why should we? are we more righteous or merciful?

"The Lord's portion is His people" - Deut 32:9
"The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him." - Psm 24:1
"Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father... And when all things have been subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will be made subject to Him who put all things under Him, so that God may be all in all." - 1 Cor 15:25, 29

Consider these things, then will you begin to know your God
Everybody have been saved LEGALLY, BUT EACH AND EVERY SOUL NEEDS TO ACCEPT THAT SALVATION VITALLY.

Now if any SOUL rejcts the Salavation wrought in Christ, and eventually dies, that SOUL will go to hell, not as a result of their SINS cos their SINS has been taken care of, but as a result of NOT ACCEPTING SALAVATION IN CHRIST.

God gave up His, sent Him to hell that we should not end up in hell, but if one refuses the offer God has proposed in Christ, then hell shall be their eternity.

God is too good, and SALAVATION in Christ is the antantidote for the Sinner Man.

No other way.

OK...

Let me give my imput here.....

First.....hell as it is used in the old testament was not described as a place with fire.....it is thesame as death, shoel, hades, etc.

Second.....hell as used in the case of Lazerus.....was one with fire....thesame as lake of fire as used by John in Revelation and Jesus in his teachings.

Thirdly.....going by what I said earlier.....hell or hellfire or lake of fire is no place for repentance, why?? This is because there is no repentance in the grave as stated in the bible.

Forthly.....some guys will be saying, 'why then will hell be cast into the lake of fire??'......yes....the hell as stated in this contest in Revelation is death, remember that hell is death and death will give out its dead for judging before being thrown itself to the lake of fire...

In all....THERE IS NO REPENTANCE IN HELL.....

this doctrine of eternal hell fire is so contradictory, to the nature of eternal God of love & mercy psalm 138:2. what will God gain by allowing eternal punishment of souls, even though wicked? especially when such punishment can't serve any purposeful lesson to the wicked for he has been eternally condemned. or could it be that this God is more vengeful than we humans? because i can't even imagine accepting, my worst offenders to burn in hell forever, without timeframe. After producing a toxic product you destroy it & make use of the quality ones. honestly there is more to God that even the best pastor can not explain. am just a learner, what do i know?

There's no second chance for a dead person. See! For you to make heaven is when you're alive and accept Jesus Christ as you're personal Lord and Savior. If you're did not do that till you die, there's no repentance in the grave. No remedy for you. So once you're died without Christ you're gone to hell. So receive Christ now that you're still alive.

You certainly don't know Jesus! If you did, you should have known and believed when Jesus said "heaven and earth may pass away but not one jot in his word". If there was any possibility of people in hell escaping or being forgiven, then why would Jesus waste His time preaching for people to avoid hell at all cost, even if it means cutting off one's hands or legs to avoid ending up in hell? You need to go and read Mark 9:43 - 48 and tell me if Jesus was joking when He clearly made the explicit statements there. Are you the owner of your life or the creator of hell or the creator of heaven and earth to determine what happens to people in hell or not? The creator clearly states something unambiguously in His word about hell, and you an ordinary creation of His now thinks the creator must "fit into your description/idea of what the creator must be like". Jesus is Lord, and He owes you no explanation of what He decides to do, whether you like it or not. Don't fool yourself with human philosophy by thinking God will change what He said in His word about life & death, heaven & hell, only to discover later when you stand before Him in judgement that God is not bound by your views of what you think. He is God and sovereign, you can't change that

Satan is not man. Salvation exists only for mankind.

As for he'll, there is another interesting standpoint. With God there is almost no chronology because he is timeless. The future, present and past are happening at the same time to him. He is Alpha and Omega.
Very hard to understand but biblical. Jesus Christ died and went into hell to preach to condemned souls because it would have been unjust for souls born before his coming not to partake of salvation.

The way I interpret it is as follows; if you are a sinner you are already in hell but because you are time dependent in your life on earth it is not manifesting physically. It is the intensity of the pain that you will experience physically which is already happening in the spirit that makes God have mercy on you that you mages you meet a preacher, a friend , an intercessor that brings you to him.

Believe me, past, present and future are happening at once in God's viewpoint. That is why people call SIN a state of being not acts that you commit. If you don't have Christ you are a sinner

MrsPhyno:

sin is a sin but the action of sin isn't actually what keeps you out of heaven. If in a hypothetical situation, you managed to never sin in your life, but you still didn't accept Jesus as your savior, you wouldn't go to heaven. Hope you get my point now.
There goes another issue. Even when I keep my nose clean, I still end up in hell. Even if am a 1 year old child who died in a war zone? Or a child who stole a tiny candy bar.
This reasoning is human and is fundamentally flawed and goes against everything that makes the world a beautiful place - diversity.
Diversity in opinion. Diversity is species. Even God made different animals and gave us the gift of having our personal opinions and the capacity to reason.
Only 31.50% of the world population is Christians: ie people who believe in Jesus. You mean to say billions of people represented by the remaining 68.5% will go to hell? Damn! Hell must have lots of accommodation space.

MrsPhyno:
lol that's right, I'm a human and I'm telling you my interpretation of God's word. What do you think Pastors are for? In order for me to even believe in something I have to have a personal philosophy, otherwise it's just letters in a book.
This is another issue. We dare not question the word of God - even though the Bible has gone through several editions - manipulated by corrupt people to their own selfish end. People's interpretation has so polluted simple reasoning to the extent that even a five year old will know this whole thing does not make sense.

MrsPhyno:
You're going into inanity now sir.... No one mentioned any councils or elders.
Though that was intended as a pun. I can tell you there was really a council of elders who decided what books will be in the bible and what portions they needed to edit to suite their own selfish ends. Google it -Google it: "Council of Nicaea". Then Google the emperor Constantine - what a wonderful man he was. smiley

MrsPhyno:
How many times do I have to say it's not about the sin per se. I even inserted a sermons worth of Bible verses to back it up.
Would you accept my facts if I quoted the Koran? I bet you will not. Only the bible is the truth. smiley

MrsPhyno:

Also, doesn't make any sense for you to equate an adults actions to a child's when you just said their minds are not mature enough to know right from wrong.
Stealing is sin right? If one dies while remaining in sin, they head straight for hell. Is that not what Christianity preaches? If by your analogy God will consider the age of the child and spare him, then he must be sending the grown man to hell? Otherwise the process is not justice - its biased.

MrsPhyno:
I am yet to know of the religion, or even the secular governing body that says that the actions of a child = that of an adult.
I thought sin is sin? I needed to know how God would treat a child that stole a candy bar You still have not told me. Maybe he has a cooler part of hell for kids smiley

MrsPhyno:
Children commit actual crimes and in the court of law even get lighter/different punishments than adults for the same crimes almost completely. Why are their juvenile prisons? Even for children that are very near adulthood like 15,16,17; not to talk of for 6 and 8 year olds. We don't "punish" children in the same way we do adults. God likewise is like that, from what I've read in the Bible.

At least we are better than God. Humans know the difference between children and adults. I still think this is you trying to rationalize things. Who told you hell has a juvenile section? smiley

MrsPhyno:
We don't "punish" children in the same way we do adults. God likewise is like that, from what I've read in the Bible.

Who told you God segregates adults from children? Have you not read about Sodom and Gomorrah plus other places conquered by men supposedly under God's influence. Have you not read where he told them to kill everyone: Women, children, animals? Have you not read how he visits sins upon children up to many generations?

MrsPhyno:
Are u here to argue that that is somehow not right?

Absolutely not. Am here to ask if a child who stole a candy bar will go to hell. You have not answered me. Instead you are telling me how we as humans treat child and adult criminals. It appears humans are much more compassionate than God from all your analogy.

MrsPhyno:
If anything, that is more fair cause it takes into account the fundamental difference between being a child and being an adult. Anyone who feels otherwise is a bit looney, I think.
Are you calling God looney? If your theory about giving special considerations to kids does not exist in the bible, then you must mean God is bonkers? or he is outright mean?

Hmm!

You sound really sure.

So enlighten us why we should believe you (not an illiterate goat herder but a basic and common Nairalander) on the Non- existence of the spiritual kingdoms.

What proof do you base your disbelief on? Where do you draw such conlusion from? Is it just an assumption? A self denial?

Or the truth?

Enlighten us with reason.

Bros there is no repentance in the grave and repentance and faith in christ are the two arms that will hold on to Gods mercy and will make a soul escape everlasting hell.God never made that place for any man but for the devil and his angels jesus died to remove and save you from that place having taken upon himself your punishment for sin. There is no mercy in hell bro no water torment for all eternity so lets accept Gods plan for escape and run to jesus
