Poverty is at the root cause of all these. The man will even be irritated by the hungry looking traffic warder. SMH at how low this country has sunken!

If true, the proper thing would be to send him back to his country, along with a strongly worded letter of condemnation to his home consulate.

But in this Nigeria, don't be surprised if President Buhari calls him to apologize for the 'embarrassment' caused him by 'local' Nigerians. undecided

That's not enough to declare him persona grata and honestly, if he is truly an ambassador, there is nothing Buhari will do about it. It is not about the president but a privilege guaranteed by the Vienna Convention of Diplomatic Relations

It's a shame that even the traffic wardens don't know their rights and are only good at humiliating other Nigerians, yes he probably has immunity from prosecution if he's a diplomat but not immunity from arrest! If indeed he violated traffic laws he could have been pulled over, delayed for hours and probably arrested, then his people would make the necessary calls to have him released only after they know he's arrested and processed. If he was in a rush, after spending two to three hours at the police station, he would realize that obeying traffic rules gets you faster to where you need to be.

Foreign Diplomat Allegedly Said This After Breaking Traffic Rules In Abuja. PICS

A foreigner who reportedly nearly caused an accident after faulting traffic rules at Powerhouse Junction, Asokoro, Abuja, -allegedly showed no remorse even after he was accosted by traffic wardens. Judging from his car's plate number, he might be a diplomat.

Read below what was shared by Emmanuel Ogbeche, few minutes ago.

As a graduate of International Studies and Diplomacy from the Great UNIBEN, I have the authority to tell everyone that the diplomat cannot be prosecuted in Nigeria. He has immunity, our diplomat can do same even in the USA and nothing will happen. The immunity that the guy enjoya is derived from the president of the sending country, in this case his president.

I don't want to go into details but the bottom line is that the Traffic Warden was not properly trained about diplomatic practices in his police training hence we was wasting his time with him. There is nothing our government can do about it. As a matter of international practice, diplomats' bags, residents and domestic staff are immuned, they don't pay tax too. There is another one known as Privileges aside the immunity they enjoy.

That is all I can say for now for the purpose of education so that some of should not be fooling ourselves with certain comments.

They (foreigners) sees us flouting laws of the land but that doesn't mean they should follow suit. Let's respect every provisions of LFRN to the letter.
No one dare disobey rules/orders in a developed nation.
