We can nt hold obi responsible for GEJ, but we can hold Buhari responsible for Silva and Dariye even though they committed their alleged crimes under 16 years of PDP and Jona who had all the instruments of power and law reinforcements to jail them if found wanting?

You people just spew rubbish out of both sides of your necks.. grin grin grin

Governance is improving the lives of the people and the only way you do that is capacity building, investing in and building infrastructures that creates jobs which in turn boost the economy and people's standard of living.

Saving money instead of doing the above is foolishness, incompetence, lack of ideas and vision and even gross abdication of responsibilities.

Not investing funds at your disposal means you can not create jobs, it means you can not start and commission projects that positively impacts people's lives..

This is the same kind of lack of ideas and vision mentality responsible for the inability of many public officials to deliver just like the entire SE is lagging behind in delivered infrastructures...

Hiding money under the bed means money that's redundant, tied down and benefits nobody, even his own people and the owner of the money.

It's called penny wise pound foolish..

Obi is the kind of weak and incompetent public official you sack with immediate effect.

Btw, what's so brilliant about lying that you left N75 billion when your own successor is still insisting that you're lying...?

Read to comprehend and not just to click on the reply button. Why didn't you embolden the part of Judas being among the twelve. I am saying that you can't hold one responsible for the actions of their friends.
Obi is wise enough to invest the money and not just to leave lie idle in the bank and for his successor to embezzle it.
It is more like a fixed deposit with long term maturity. It is for the next generation.
As for the claims of the incumbent governor, they had a feud and you don't expect him to sing his praises which is typical of politicians. Didn't you see the handover note? Or do you want to see the raw cash? Grow up Bro.

OBJ sacked the useless and incompetent woman, but jona picked her up to soak our dollars just to sit and inordinate looting and stealing, issuing import waivers to cronies, looking the other way while NNPC loot us dry with multiple illegal foreign accounts instead of depositing our earnings in her federal account, stealing and dashing our money to dasuki to share and do ATM.

The same incompetent woman many clowns praise as a world class banker borrowed hundreds of billions to pay salaries and fund budget almost through out her stay in office even though Nigeria made more money under her watch than any other government in the history of Nigeria.

If the same useless world banker instituted austerity measures and borrowed hundreds of billions when Nigeria's oil was selling for $80 dollars, what is she going to do with oil selling for $30? She go probably auction Nigeria patpata.

Now the useless woman is confessing that her and her stealing is not corruption boss failed to save to prevent our current economic situation.

Bottom line, the useless woman should have remained sacked by OBJ, but crooked jona brought her back to facilitate his wholesale and institutionalized regime..

Aisha rice is doing more harm than good. Yaradua beg that woman to join his government. OBJ brought that woman from world and paid her with dollars. someone went to court to challenge that. When did OBJ sack her

I know he is a learned fellow, versed in financial matters, while on earth did he decide to support GEJ considering his wastefulness.
One thing I've come to learn about educated elites is their penchant to become honorary advisers when they leave government. I thought Okonjo Iweala would for instance come out to explain to Nigerians how she presided over an economy that received so much oil income that toward the end was already borrowing to finance salary of workers.
You see why Nigeria baffles me!!!

A bad system would beat a good individual any day, that was the case of GEJ and Okonjo Iweala. All the plans to save was frustrated by PDP and the state governors, look at all GEJ's plans and policies and tell me they weren't for the better, though that's no excuse for their failure.

That being said even Buhari is not yet free from the political profiteers, otherwise how would you justify his silence and inaction on the nepotic recruitments that happened under his nose, the billions Abba kyari collected from MTN, look at the ministers he appointed and tell me his hand wasn't forced, actually the only difference between GEJ and Buhari is the later's willingness to say no and stand by it,

"I reduced my convoy to 5 vehicles and you cannot buy fuel unless I am in the car".- Peter Obi

"If I sleep in a hotel and have to pay N250k a night, I will be awake all night...feeling like I was robbed". - Peter Obi

"I beg you to participate more in politics, the society we help them abuse today will take its revenge tomorrow".- Peter Obi

"The only way out of recession is to spend for growth. You can only spend for growth either from savings or from borrowing.
The question is: what are you borrowing for?
Are you borrowing for consumption or for production?
When you borrow for consumption, you are heading for disaster."

-- Peter Obi.

" I had to stop the Presidential lodge in Anambra... A project awarded at 400million. I had to close down state house in lagos and Abuja... Because I felt we dont need it.... Even when other states had."

" They said President Obasanjo is coming... I went to borrow the kind of cars they wanted... Instead of spending millions... From a neigbouring state."

"I requested Obasanjo to spend the nights in my lodge Since they said he must sleep over... I asked my wife to pack out of my bedroom... We went opposite to lodge in a hotel (name mentioned) for the week, we paid N30,000 instead of N100,000."

"I used the 150million for 2 bullet proof cars to buy almost 50 Peugeot cars at 3 million each.. gave 17 to JUDGES and 18 to permanent Secretaries (because i discovered they did not have cars) and kept 10 for govt house... which I used as Governor... I did not use bullet proof cars as Governor."

"They said we should attend world Igbo Congress in U. S.... That the budget WAS cut from 40 to 32million.... I asked them why... That only one person should go and come and tell us what was discussed."

"Instead of paying 30,000 for each security personnel (about 30) per night in Abuja, I told IG to give me Police whenever am in Abuja....I travel alone... Ppl complained.... The 15 drivers lodged in Abuja state house...who come to airport to cause confusion, i asked to go, kept only 3. The others to go back to Akwa or look for job... I asked the cook to go back to Akwa instead of giving him 30,000 per plate."

"When Governors lodge and Govt house was burnt before I came... With budget of 400million and 300 million, I repaired them for 42 million and 80million respectively. They wanted to impeach me that I did not spend by due process... Following the awarded Contracts and contractor.... I saw a table.. That my predecessor used, they said its old... I asked them to renovate it... That all i needed was a table to write as Governor... "

" So so so I was able to save money and made sure that ANAMBRA HAS THE BEST ROAD NETWORK THAN ANY OTHER STATE IN NIGERIA....."

♡♡♡♡♤♤♤♤ PETER OBI....WORDS ON MARBLE! "

The former Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi made some staggering revelations on how most states are run.

He made this revelation while speaking at The Platform, a program organised by Covenant Christian Center.

The former Governor also called on Nigerians to stop celebrating criminality, adding that there is enough money for development in Nigeria.

Obi, who spoke on the topic: Cutting cost in governance, said he saved over N75b for Anambra state.

Obi said he saved $50m and N7b in Access bank, $55m and N10b in Fidelity bank, and $155.4m in Diamond bank.

According to him, the over-bloated spending habit of most governors is what is causing poverty.

Obi also added that the states can still function on their income and still save money.

The former Governor called on Nigerians to question the commitments of the leaders who they voted into office.

He also slammed religious leaders for not speaking up against corruption, especially when they know the person has not viable source of income.

Speaking on calls to borrow money to boost the economy, Obi said “There is nothing wrong with borrowing. The crisis we are facing is that we do not know what we are using the money we are borrowing for.”

Highlighting ways on how Governors can save money, he said:

1. Governors spend N600 - N800b to run their office and sponsor their aides.

2. Initiate competitive procurement.

3. Do away with unconstitutional office of the first lady which is run with N2b.

4. Reduce Governor’s cars to 2, instead of 6 bullet-proof cars.

5. Reduce Govt house jeeps instead of 25 jeeps.

He revealed to the audience that it used to cost him and his contingent, 10m per trip to Abuja when he travels.

Obi said he had to cut down the expenses, because he found out that over 30 people who had nothing to do in Abuja were going with him.

"When Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo wanted to come to Anambra state, they were supposed to used N500m to construct a presidential lodge, but I asked the President to sleep in my house through-out his stay," he said.

Finally, the former Governor asked Nigerian youths to take back their future by joining politics.

Peter Obi is a recipient of numerous national awards and recognition as a result of his

exemplary tenure as governor.

TEN IMPORTANT THINGS PETER OBI DID
NOT TELL US ON THE PLATFORM

On the platform at The Covenant Place,
Iganmu Lagos; the former governor of
Anambra state, as one of the invited guests
spoke on a number of issues which are
trending in the media. It was not an
interactive session, so there was no
opportunity to ask him questions hence the
uninformed in Anambra politics “ga ekwe
nke Pita kwulu”. I've been getting calls and
inbox messages from Nigerians at home and
in diaspora as regards Obi's speech on the
"platform" and I've done my best to explain
to them "as onye no mgbe ife melu the true
situation of things" but on a second thought
decided to explain certain things online, not
as a media aide to anybody but as "ezigbote
onye Anambra."

1. Peter OBI told us that he kept N75b for
his successor but he didn't tell us that part
of the money he claimed he kept was a N9b
NIPP money given to Anambra state by
Obasanjo in which Anambra state made no
financial contributions neither did he tell us
that Anambra states Equity shares of
N750m from Emenite Roofing Industry (a
Michael Okpalla investment) which was
shared to all Eastern states in the early 90's
was part of his N75b He also forgot to tell
us that N1b agricultural loan given to
farmers in Anambra state by the federal
government is in his N75b handover note.

2. Peter OBI told us that he kept N75b for
his successor but he did not tell us that he
awarded a contract of N184b in his last year
in office, paid N78b and bequeathed a debt
of N106b to his successor.

3. Peter Obi asked governors to scrap the
office of First Lady to save cost but did not
tell us that his wife operated the office of
First Lady with all the paraphernalia. In what
capacity did Magarete Obi tour 177
communities in Anambra state thrice? Was
the office of First Lady built after Obi's
tenure?

4. Peter OBI told us that he kept N75b for
his successor but did not tell us that he
inherited N11.2b from his predecessor, Dr.
Chris Ngige. He avoided telling us that the
Federal Government roads in Anambra state
constructed by Dr Ngige valued at about
N30b was re-imbursed to him.

5. Peter OBI did not tell us that he killed the
third tier of government in Anambra state by
not conducting Local Government election
for eight years he governed until two months
to handover.

6. Peter Obi, speaking on “the platform” did
not tell us that he employed more than 5000
civil servants two months to handover which
he never did in his eight years rule.

7. Obi admonished incumbent governors to
stop drinking champagne in government
house to save cost but didn't tell us that the
day Gov Obiano won, bottles of champagne
were brought out from government house
and shared to jubilants.

8. Obi told us he never slept in a hotel
where a room was N250,000 a night to save
cost but he didn't tell us how his aide was
apprehended moving our security vote of
N250m by road to Lagos.

9. Peter Obi admonished youths to go into
politics to be influential and ask their
leaders questions but the youths of his
senatorial zone are being shortchanged and
employment eludes them because of PDP's
lingering court case sponsored by Obi. Obi
did not tell us that he was the one
frustrating his senatorial zone from having a
senator when he was speaking on “the
platform.”

10. On “the platform”, Obi spoke on “cutting
cost of governance” but did not tell us if
sharing N40b to his friends and cronies on
what he termed “Final Push” two months to
handover was one of the ways to save cost
of governance. Pastor Poju Oyemade is
doing well on his programme called “The
Platform” but he should to add to the
programme an opportunity to ask questions
to debunk hypocrisy.

According to Obi, Anambra has the best road network in Nigeria. I can't say if i agree with this or not cos I've not travelled the whole of Nigeria. But isn't it shameful that commuters in this state with the best road network find it very hard to travel from Onitsha to Enugu on a road that is perhaps the most important in the state? Some will shout federal road, but obi couldn't do anything about that road by his virtue of being very close to the president for years. So shameful. Even Obi is not worth any trust

He build a magnificent roads, I wish that other SOUTH-EAST governors who have been like him. is good to judge yourself at the end of your service

Why are u having problem with the previous govt spending to solve the problems then. The reserve was used to defend the naira. Salaries/wages bill went up to 1.4trn from around 350bn. Similarly, higher crude price meant higher subsidy in a subsidy regime. Hope u can see where monies went.

Who is this guy who kept talking like a kid? It will be impossible in any clime for a seating governor to pry into what any national government is doing with finances at the center. Infact in Nigeria if you try it no matter how close you re to the president he will view you as a mole and a traitor and the next is that instrumentality of state will be fully deployed for your removal. Do you know the meaning of separation of power?

Mind you the governors forum led by Amaechi and Fashola should bear all the blame for the mess we found ourselves today because they were the ones that kept threatening and mounted pressure on Ngozi Okonjo and Pres. Jonathan to share the savings to them and any wonder why they are not talking in this direction because they know the harm they did to the country.

Governor Obi, the Nigerian youths you're talking about are doing pressups, desperate to take over and do even worse. Their oga Chude Jideonwo has already made 30 million naira to put Buhari there after chopping millions from the principals in Jonathan's government (remember "Future Awards"?). He refused to work for a new Nigeria or question why it has to be Buhari vs Jonathan as I kept on arguing on Twitter. When I told him he can't be an activist for better Nigeria and same time a businessman making money from the system, he went unhinged and attacked me to no end and then blocked me. Abi na Omojuwa?
