OP and mod wey push this thing must be from another world o, is it the smell that will greet you welcome or your lack for privacy that you so much want? Plus Nigerian hostels can't accommodate students. In some schools only first and final year students have the hostel privilege and not even all of them would be given. Which university did you attend or currently attending? If it is private then no p.

To be sincere "off campus" is the best, am a sophomore in the department of philosophy, University of Port-Harcourt. I stayed in hostel when I was in year 1, the disadvantages in hostel is so much, hostel is very dirty, no privacy, we live like an animal, u can not have a relationship with a girl when living in hostel. In conclusion, I made my best grade when am in "off campus". I too sabi book dem full hostel, at d end they end up with average result.

There are security men everywhere in the school but there are many cases of theft everywhere. In some school there is not like security because of cult groups student can't go to class at night to read. when it come to security only God protects the security men are only trying.

I will only allow my ward to stay on campus if the following conditions are met.

1. Steady power supply

2. Adequate security

3. Good hostel facilities,

4. Adequate Security and Sanitation

It doesnt make sense to send your wards to hostels that look like slave camps with no electricity , water supply and security.

All you have said is under one point (adequate hostel facility).And you can't get an adequate hostel facility in Nigerian universities especially public universities.

Come to Niger Delta University, Bayelsa state. Na there u go see thiefs de rob for inside campus wen security men de, u mentioned cadet, man o war? Lols... How can these people fight with armed men? my grades were sh*t until i left for off campus. It is not the same for everybody.

Makes sense but staying on campus isn't for everyone.

I love my privacy, I hate people messing with my things and I can focus whenever I decide to.
