Yes. Jesus came to abolish religion. More reason they crucified him. Christianity is not a religion. The term Christians did not originate from Jesus neither from the Bible, rather people who sought to identify the followers of Christ named them Christians (Acts 11:26).

Religion is burdensome with blind following. For example, you must perform some ritualist activities or obligation daily. Weekly, monthly,etc. Observe moon, sun, stars, etc. Wear certain dresses that arguably were worn by the initiators of the religion.
