Blue3k:With all these statistics, the destiny of the country still in the hands of the North. Isn't it a shame on you all? The rubbish you put up doesn't dispute the op. |

redsceptic:. Below is what I got from the NACA site HIV/AIDS Prevalence Rate Rivers - 15.2% Taraba – 10.5% Kaduna – 9.2% Nasarawa – 8.1% FCT – 7.5% Akwa Ibom – 6.5% Sokoto – 6.4% Oyo – 5.6% Benue – 5,6% Yobe – 5.3% Cross River – 4.4% Ondo – 4.3% Gombe – 3.4% Abia – 3.3% Bayelsa – 2.7% Osun – 2.6% Imo – 2.5% Borno – 2.4% Plateau – 2.3% Lagos - 2.2% Jigawa – 2.1% Adamawa – 1.9% Kwara – 1.4% Kogi – 1.4% Kano – 1.3% Enugu – 1.3% Niger – 1.2% Anambra – 1.2% Ebonyi – 0.9% Kebbi – 0.8% Edo – 0.8% Delta – 0.7% Ogun – 0.6% Bauchi – 0.6% Zamfara – 0.4% Ekiti – 0.2% Clearly from the above, high or low HIV prevalence is not a function of region. Rivers, a southern states, tops the prevalence rate by far followed by some northern states and then a mixture of both northern and southern states in the median. At the very bottom are two northern states along with Ekiti. I'm sorry sir but this doesn't support your postulation that north leads in HIV prevalence. Try again |

arewafederation:Lol so you dont have an arguent for the stats. Im glad you admitted it. The country in hands of North so for there own good they better do the reforms necessary that SW and SW leaders proposed. It is a shame we let tribalism and hated make this country unable to live up to true potential. Yes it did dispute it. The Author claims amounted to we arent that bad, even you cant deny stats. Most points author made were just opinions anyway. Its been fun but like others you cant do anything to dispute my claims. |

GBTYO:But why are there so many of your people in the north. Like a lot of them ![]() As we converse right now a lot of buses from the south east are bringing in your brothers to the north, most aren't likely to go back. If the north is as bad as you're making it out to be why are they willing to die there than return home. Or is the south east a much bigger hell hole than the north? I'm confused here bro. Help a brother out ![]() |

| Re: 5 Lies Everyone Tells You About Northern Nigeria by TVTKOKO(m): 8:41pm On Oct 06, 2016 |
Damn! I was born and bred in the North, kaduna precisely. The truth of the matter is,, most of the major businesses run here are by citizens from other regions of the country. Majority of the hausa muslim population which constitute of youths and children are illiterates. Now, lemme do a breakdown of what the life cycle of a northerner looks like 1.AGE 2-12: In this age group ,it will amaze you that only 60% attends school. almajiri or quranic school. only about 20% of this attends standard schools and they are the few elites among them... The remaining 40% automatically turns to Street beggars (inherited from their parents of course!) 2. AGE 13 - 20: In this age group, some of those that went to school would dropout to learn work e.g mechanic, tailoring, cobblers, conductors, drivers e.t.c. Others would continue their favourite chore, which is begging. Meanwhile the very few children of the elites and smaller percentage continues school. 3. AGE 20- 25: This set of group are already planning on how to get married, mindless of the fact that they can't /have no means of raising a family of their own. Infact, from 18yrs they already started reproducing. AGE 25 & above :90% of those in this age group, (those that went to school and those that didn't) are already family men and women. ONLY a very few of them from the rich home are ready to really go higher in educational pursuit. So from this stats, you'll find out that more than 70% of them does menial jobs from cobbling to securities, hawkers, drivers, conductors etc. While a lot of others that don't have source of income turns to stealing, armed robbery, touting, and a whole of other vices. The very few children of the elites are those that run businesses while the old ones amongst them turns to Street begging from whence they started their life journey,,, And the circle continues.. ![]() |

malton:Forgive him, for it may not be his fault; its obvious he comes from the ppl with flattened heads, a condition known as Flatinosis, where the flattened cranium excessively presses onto the brain resulting in impairment of the centres controlling compassion and integrity; if your brain was compressed like them, you too would be blatantly lying and hating just like him. Pity him for his tortured life; its not easy being the product of a baby factory and congenitally afflicted with the capacity for irrational hatred and bigotry - just thank God you are not like him. |

Blue3k:I'm finding it difficult to understand your incoherent statement, but not withstanding, does those statistics make the North any less developed than the south? I don't think so... You think the North is terrible, kindly tell your people who come in daily to return to their Utopian" South. |

KevinDein:One thing I noticed is the list is not complete. Its missing Katsina stats. Nigerian government and half hazard work lol. I took time to do averages by geopolitical region. Note North west was missing katsina so I left it out. SS- 5.0% NE - 4.0% NC/MB- 3.2% NW- 2.8% (2.4% if katsina included) SW- 2.6% SE- 1.8% In absolute North vs South terms. North Region has 3.2%-3.33% compared to 3.13%. Governor said katsina HIV prevalence was 0.7%. I factored that into the absolute stat. If my math is wrong correct it thank you. https://www.today.ng/news/nigeria/42956/hivaids-prevalence-rate-drops-by-1-3-in-katsina-masari |

arewafederation:I said your the economic laggard, the lowest educated region, lowest per capita gdp. I also said your right about North ruling politically but the must change for their own sake. Thats if they care about their standard of living and the good of nation. The political restructuring with resource control/ fiscal federal people on nairaland discuss ad nauseum. Im not too sure about developed part it varies. The standard of living is lower so yes life is worse for average person. I never said it was terrible I point out the stats. My Mother schooled in north and like it very much. Also I do like Abuja very much and plan to visit Kaduna. I dont care where people live. If you want reply me come back with facts to dispute claim. |

acenazt:Shut your trap. Even position as low as head master of a primary school is reserved for only Muslims. The easiest way to know a Christian northern is how they bear Muslim surnames but Christian first names. They usually use initials for their Christian names to mask their identity something like T.Y. Danjuma or they bear an islamized biblical name like Ibrahim. How many Christians from these core Muslim states have ever succeeded in being appointed to any substantial political or administrative position? There is also how the fulanis now claim common citizenry on virtually all Northern States apart from Benue. It is from here they easily get nominated as ministers or whatever. Obasanjo saw this and told the Northern caucus in the PDP that was dominated by hausa/fulani Muslim elements that he wanted so called minority elements to also be part of his govt and from there began appointing Christians into his govt. This did not go down well with the Hausa /fulani Muslim bloc who felt their birthrights had been handed to their slaves and infidels. This my foolish friend is how sharia agitation began to checkmate Christians from the north and subsequently how boko haram was eventually born. It will take afonja myopic frogs filled with ignorance of the real workings of this country and their unprecedented hate and jealousy of the Niger Delta and SE to breath a new life into the already wounded and dying Islamic beast to the north. The north was on her knees and the south was about bouncing to its rightfully position to lead this nation out of the clutches of corrupt illiterate bigots of the north only for the ever jealous and parasitic yoruba to align with the same north to take Nigeria back to their golden era of mediocrity that lasted from 1966 to 2009. If you fools want northern Nigeria so much then why force everyone to be apart of your afonjastic foolishness? |

acenazt:When Yakowa was murdered by Northerners with a bomb placed in his chopper, Muslims in kaduna and Zaria hit the streets in jubilation that their tin god allah had rid them of an infidel as leader. Go and study what the koran, hadiths and suras say on how Muslims are to treat infidels. The kafurs are not to join the army or bear arms. Is that not the reality on ground today with the shoddy appointments so far? The kafurs are to be heavily taxed and their economic progress checked. When you have emirs owning oil Wells and having free access to forex from their bedrooms which they sell in the parallel market to genuine southern business men. Or how about subsidy granted to hajj pilgrims but southerners with children abroad schooling are barred. Even Dangote is being supported to own oil refineries on the south and fools like you are clapping for him. When I oppose remaining in this sharia infested cesspit Afonjas like you will be throwing tantrums over nothing. Better wake up and fight for your future and stop meddling with the aspirations of both the SS and SE because 30yrs from now your children will curse your generation of myopic fools. |

GBTYO:why can't your ibos representatives in the house of representatives move a motion asking for the independence of the 5 south eastern state for we to Know how serious you guys are |
| Re: 5 Lies Everyone Tells You About Northern Nigeria by GBTYO: 7:38am On Oct 07, 2016 |
omololu2020:First of I am not igbo but Niger Deltan. There is no way we will get a bill for referendum for both Niger Delta and Biafra seccession because the same yorubas, hausa fulanis and Middle belt will kill the motion immediately. As things stand we are waiting for the great afonja wars of the 21st century to kick start. It is out of this fog of war that we will simply leave Nigeria without a shot fired in anger. This is why I like buhari and his cpc fascists faction of the apc. They are so filled with hatred of every other group not hausa fulani that they have divided this country beyond repair. The next war will be fought in yoruba land because very soon something very revolutionary will happen that will make the Yoruba nation to declare seccession. We will decieve you that we are with you but will not lift a finger in help. We shall goad you into secceding and fighting for independence but at the most crucial moment we will embrace the same north. When you guys don weak we go pull out. |

Blue3k:LIAR, ONLY THE NORTH IS AGAINST TRUE FEDERALISM,RESOURCE CONTROL,PIB,RESTRUCTURING,SELF DETERMINATION RIGHTS,REGIONÀLISM,SNC,FOUNDAMENTAL CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGE,etc...i wish lugard never amalgamated this zoo! ![]() blue3k: Next this regions politicians are against restructuring based on fiscal federalism/state resource control.KANO – Elder Statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai slammed idea saying its because Yorubas are jealous of them. Instead of focusing on improving economy they prefer to to feed off productivity of more successful regions. The quote below shows this. |

You guys are so deluded you don't use logic to think. This is the north not the south,Hausa is spoken in almost every part you expect a man Was born 65 years ago by a man who at that time was 50 years old and uneducated to name his son Abraham when he attends a church where the bible is in Hausa and the church service is also in Hausa. |

I also observed this is more common among the poor hausa/fulani's but not other minor tribes. |
