The governors from day one did not want to save the ECA, they could not win in court because OBJ treated the ECA with respect and showed integrity.

In GEJ and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala coordinating the economy, there was no respect of the ECA and they dipped their hands into it without appropriation.

So if the FG will not save what belongs to the FG, LG and State government, the governors could take them to court.
1)You have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING again to say cheesy

2)Who dare confront OBJ? And kindly drop a single link where any governor took OBJ to court on ECA plzzz...not to talk of winning or losing...Till tomorrow, ECA is UNCONSTITUTIONAL...though it helps the economy...but it is not known to Nigeria Constitution so anybody can quash it's existence in court anyday...

You have not shown anything from the courts asserting that the ECA was not handled with integrity.
Until you do that, one can only conclude that you are a big fat LIAR.

What do you mean by show from courts? Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said she took the money from the orders from the President.

That is like waiting for evidence from court after the person confessed.

The clueless one acceded to their demands and shared the National Cake to them so they too could help mis-manage the same kwo grin Walahi we get useless politicians for this country shaaa

Vicadonis:
Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation and former governor of Rivers state, says governors demanded the sharing of money from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) under the last federal government because it was not properly managed.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, former minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, has consistently maintained that governors lacked the political will to save during the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan, former president.

But speaking on One on One, an interview programme on NTA, on Wednesday, Amaechi said Okonjo-Iweala was only “partially correct”.

“I heard Mrs Okonjo-Iweala say that in the past administration, governors were unwilling to save; she is 30 percent correct and 70 percent incorrect,” he said.

“In 2009, we had an economic crisis so President Yar’adua put $1billion in the economy so no one felt the crisis. I can’t remember what was left in that account, the excess crude account.

“During Goodluck Jonathan, every month when the governors went for the economic council meeting, the amount in the account kept dropping. If we asked about what happened to the money, the response we got was that the president approved for it to be spent.

“So we said can we please share this money because the rate at which it was going, the president would have continually approved $1billion to spend and we won’t know what we are spending for and they won’t give us an account.

“So we told the vice president and the minister for finance that there was a need for us to share part of this money and we began to agitate. They now agreed to share part of the money and they did. In the first six months of Goodluck Jonathan, oil subsidy increased. Governors started complaining and then we had a meeting in the office of the president’s wife.

“At the meeting, we asked for assurance that the presidency would no longer collect for oil subsidy and he promised. It is not right for Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to say governors were not willing to save; governors were willing to save but we insisted on sharing the money when we saw that the money was not properly managed.”

The former member of the Rivers state house of assembly said he agreed to serve as a minister because he believes in the administration’s capacity to serve.

“Refusing to serve when the president invited me to serve would mean that I did not have confidence in him. I am serving under the president because I believe that he is the man to help us at this particular time.”

OBJ did not take money from the ECA. That is why the governors could not confront him.

It was different under GEJ. The FG took from the ECA repeatedly.

What does that have to do with what we are discussing? I repeat, my discussion here is not partisan but the mistakes we made in the past. The discussion is how to make sure this does not happen again.
The mistake of the past is constitutional and REMAINS till today.
The only change is that subsidy has been withdrawn as the 36 governors and Jonathan wanted in 2012.

The FG should bear the responsibility of integrity and leadership. That was how OBJ saved. GEJ and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s dipping into the ECA caused this country problems. Another government should not touch it without appropriation.
What of the 36 states and 774 LGAs huh
They should not bear any responsibility of integrity and leadership? For money they access simply by being part of the federation guaranteed by the Armed Forces and Foreign Affairs ministry paid by the federal government?
There should be no need to touch the ECA as no more subsidy payments. So huh

Out of point. We are talking why we could not save during a windfall. We could saved because of OBJ'S political will to save. He treated the money with leadership and integrity. GEJ and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala did not.

If the 36 states felt it was not RIGHT they would have approached the Supreme Court, not so?
Did they?
That is the court case I am asking you to share evidence of. Simple!
If they did not go to the SC, obviously they had no LEGAL constitutional basis to challenge the subsidy payments therefrom. Is that straightforward enough or you need further explanation?

They were not interested in whether the FG should not take the money. That was the proof they wanted to collect their own.

That is why I am against Partisan ties. Those who lost were not the FG, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, State governors or Chairmen of LGs. It was the masses that lost.

Nigeria's Obasanjo, his Untouchables, and the $16 Billion Power Scam

Keep away from Obasanjo, he wasted $16 billion on power Owie tells Buhari

https://pointblanknews.com/pbn/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/obj-and-owie.jpg

Senator Roland Owie has blasted ex President Olusegun Obasanjo over his perceived posture to influence the incoming administration of President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting to a Think-tank report submitted to Buhari by a team of technocrats put together by Obasanjo, Owie described the document as needless.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, Owie, who is also a former Chief Whip of the Senate, asked: ”How can Obasanjo be preparing a blueprint for Buhari? A Bini parable says, ‘how can an impotent man get medicine for his brother, who suffers weak erection?’”

Expressing disappointment at Buhari’s romance with Obasanjo, Owie said “Obasanjo will tell the world that the solutions he prescribed for fixing Nigeria were ignored.”

Continuing he said, “I just read that Obasanjo’s think-tank has submitted a blueprint to Buhari. Blue what?

“I am shocked that great Nigerians of the likes of Prof. Akin Mabogunje, Dr. Idika Kalu and Dr. Christopher Kolade were involved. That Obasanjo is linked to the blue-print, it will be a document of blackmail to Buhari very soon.

“Wonders will never end! How can Obasanjo who allegedly wasted eight years in government pursuing perceived enemies, and tried to ruin the legislative and judiciary arms of government in Nigeria; wasted $16 billion on power and not a single kilowatt of energy was produced, destroyed Aladja Steel, Itakpe Steel, Ajaokuta Steel, NITEL, just to mention a few FGN parastatals, now begin to advise Buhari?

“How can Obasanjo, whose government received, in one year, a revenue equivalent of the total revenue that IBB regime received in eight years, yet, nothing to show for it, be handing over blue-print to the in-coming administration?

The masses did not lose as we had regular fuel supply due to subsidies being paid.
Those who lost are the zombies who believed the LIES that money for subsidy was taken illegally when it was NOT.
If you have contrary facts of court adjudication of illegal withdrawals, share or stop spreading LIES.

lol...

Forgive me. May I ask if Mr Ameachi ever told Mr President he agitated for that money to be shared? Why then has the presidency been blaming that the previous administration didn't save for the rainy days?

What an excuse he put up there anyway!

TheGoodJoe:
[color=#000099]That does not state that the ECA was not dropping. That does not state the FG handled our reserves with integrity.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala stated clearly she took money out from the ECA without appropriation on presidential orders. That says it all.

So saying no to the Federal Commissioners does not prove anything.r]
I will end my argument here...or will continue if you provide veritable answers here...

1)It seems you love the word integrity so much and has fought in vain just like Buhari cum APC to establish that it was lacking under Jonathan and Okonjo-Iweala...but can you tell me how much Buhari has saved now with no subsidy payment burden, crude oil price above budget benchmark and with your type of integrity too?

2)Did you just need the word ; "appropriation"? If It is UNCONSTITUTIONAL to spend outside budget estimate as in this case of urgent national need...why do we have room for supplementary budget? what's the need? what's the essence? Does it capture pre or post budgetary expenditure?

Since the then president mismanaged the funds and the governors agitated for it to be shared, we're they(governors) able to manage their share well? Is it not as a result of the mismanaged funds that they owed workers salaries of over eight months?

I personally do not blame him. I blame those that give him listening ears and sing his praises out of ignorance and hunger. Nevertheless, his time will surely come to answer for the ills done to the state he governed.

Little by little GEJ is getting vindicated sha. Every day his so called enemies are giving up ground.

First it was his cursed agric policies, which the current govt dumped then reimplemented.

Then it was subsidy which some ppl were ready to kpai over. I guess it got removed finally.

Now even the long running "GEJ had no political WILL to save" myth is dying.

I'm happy.

Not yet goodnight for the LieLieJoe =>

TheGoodJoe:

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and GEJ armed the governors by using the money from the ECA without accountability.

Bringing Tinubu into this is cheap and low.

The point you tried to evade is simple. Would the governors collect the money if GEJ and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala acted with integrity? No.

The governors took the FG to court because they had proof the FG and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala took money without appropriation.
The above was what he said- that the 36 governors approached the court since the FG took money without appropriation.
When I asked him to show links to the court case, he knew his LIES had caught him out and started shitting and peeing in his pants.
