Imagine what educated people are talking about
Using someone that has not been been convicted as a symbol for crime
Disappointing
The hard fact is that many criminals will never be convicted. There were neighbourhood thieves who were never convicted but our parents used them as examples of who we should not turn out to be.

dayoade2007:
A day after the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure was invited to
Ibadan quarters of the EFCC, the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU and
the Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU of the school staged a mighty protest within the school
premises.
The protest which started at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon had protesters chanting "Ole" and
lasted till half past three the same afternoon. The VC who was recently invited by the EFCC
over fraud and corruption allegations was accused by the Staff Unions of refusing to pay their
long-term allowances.
The Staff Unions requested the VC be removed with immediate effect and that the Federal
Government set up a panel to audit FUTA account.
The Staff Unions were heard saying "You can't be facing corruption charges and be ruling us.
We don't want another Saraki."
They went ahead to say "We're advising Prof. Gregory Adebiyi Daramola not to come to FUTA
from 4pm this evening. Nobody must go to office tomorrow. We must resume here [the front
of New Senate building, the VC's office]."
"We're not on strike, we're on protest. If you don't come and you're caught, you're on your
own. But if you come to work and join the protest, an injury to one is an injury to all" the
protesters said.
"It is our enemies who will not see tomorrow. They will have diabetes and the diabetes will kill
them. They will have cancer. They will die of hunger" fiercely it got as they rounded up.
Our correspondents were not allowed to go near the core of the protest as students were not
allowed. However, one of the protesters who does not want his name disclosed told us the
protest could go un-peacefully if they were provoked.
Rumours have it that since the emergence of the Vice-Chancellor, FUTA Staff members have
been deprived of some financial privileges as the VC trashed out autonomy of staff members
on funds and disregarded due process in issues of leadership sustainability.
The students on hearing the news, have continued to raise concerns on the possible
consequences. It will be noted that the sophomore admissions list that should have been
released is yet to be released. The students also hope it will be resolved soon, so it does not
affect the academic calendar.
As against the false news that Professor B.K. Alese was involved in the protest, the Dean is
presently out of school and could not have been found anywhere near the protest ground.

With this protest, the source of the petition is obvious. Many of the protesters are more corrupt that the man they are accusing if given same opportunity. This protest is "bad belle" protest. I read the story yesterday. The man is collecting his own allowance while depriving them of their own. But they do not have right to stop the man from coming to work just because he is facing allegation of corruption. Allegation is not conviction, neither has he been arranged. The hunger in the land & frustration is the reason for this upheaval.

Union will always be Union anywhere..
because they will always sweet-coat there words to make you beleive what they are saying is true..

EFCC inviting somebody doesnt make him a thief.. a VC is an academician..
Union always feel cheated and thats not true..
To be a Union member means you are employed (any Federal University staff has good package)

Let one of the UNion member try Unemployment
then he will compare, how fa

The Union should stop destroying that VC's name..

Thank you

You just come online without your senses
Did I complain about the protest?
Why didn't they just protest about the vc and stay on it
Why drag Saraki into it?
How are you different from the igbos you are condemning?
Everything is politics to you

Let me give you more hint about the corruption of the FUTA VC

He spends an average of 10Million on travelling every month, for the past 6months He has not spent up to 4weeks in FUTA, you can confirm this by checking all the Inaugural Lectures they do in FUTA he is not always present DVCA prof. Arayela is the one that represents him. Whenever the VC is travelling to US and from there to UK and other country , He will collect Money like he is travellin from Nigeria to the individual countries.

He gives the University money to friend and Family without necessary approval from the council, because he as so much settled the council members themselves, the fact known is N600,000 he gave council chairman for drugs, He gave himselve 1M Naira during His Daughter wedding earlier in the year.

I believe you are all aware of the auditor general report of like 2 months against the same VC over misappropriation of funds but like he always do the news was killed before we can read the details

meanwhile the SSANU, NASU and NAT Association have actually written to him and gave 21 day ultimatum that is due last week Wednesday for him to pay some allowances that are due to them from the internally generated revenue which has been approved by the council since 2012 that 40% of the revenue should be used for the welfare package of staff but he refused to meet with the Union leaders.

If anybody can have the opportunity to talk to contractor or consultants working on building projects in FUTA they will tell you what is going on Inflated contract given to the lowest bidders and the project is still release at main cost of project , the rest am sure goes back to Daramola.

He gives himself and the executives Sal-ah, Easter Christmas Bonus whereas those staff that make the IGR are begging for the allowance since 2012 he has not paid a dime, OAU paid same, Uni Lag Paid, UNAB even Federal University in OYE Paid.

I pray God will open the eyes of everybody, to see the details, if you have been eating from the regime of this VC please don't ague about His innocence, because the man is undoubtedly a corrupt person, he has tried in selling FUTA as a product but he is sooo Corrupt and has not treated the staff of the Univer right including ASUU whom he insulted the Chairman and all the executive earlier in the week with a four page bulletin
