How does the use of credit card as a mode of payment deter drug traffickers? Does these people think all of us are stupid?
Just start selling tickets in dollars and stop this arrant nonsense. Everyone knows the Naira is dead!

It's just a subtle way to reject the naira so they can easily repatriate their money. They have been looking for an excuse, and now they've gotten one.

The policy is applicable to Brazil route for now and most Nigerian passengers on Emirates are mid- and far-east bound. If they want to reject naira, they would have applied it on more frequent routes.

Naira credit cards can be used for Emirate booking depending on your credit limit and your bank policy. I once used Stanbicibtc credit card even before the introduction of this policy.

Try not to be insensitive to sensitive issues, in as much as you don't love to travel someone else does.

What has the so called 95% got to do with people whom have genuine businesses there?

Do you assume this policy affects just Brazilian travellers?

I pray your business(es) grow to such a level you begin to witness the real impact of these prohibitions. Not biding behind a PC with a bigoted mind unaware of real world issues.

Thesame way they have used their bad business to spoil other peoples genuine business.

They should just change and stop this drugs nonsense they do out of greed.

Please how are credit cards the best way to deter drug smugglers ,Drug smugglers already have valid passports and visas and most already have valid credit cards . They are are just exploring another route on how to peel their money out of Nigeria fastest ..if this test is successful they will soon mandate all routes to book with a credit card

Most credit cards issued Nigeria are naira denominated. The cards issued on domiciliary accounts are mostly debit cards. So, how does adoption of credit cards help their case of currency repatriation?

See scope and the Nigerian agency bought it hook line and sinker! angry Is everyone traveling to Brazil now a drug trafficker? Don't they know how difficult it is to get the foreign currency to fund the cards? Is a credit card more valid in identifying paying passengers compared to the BVN? We get problem for this country shaaa undecided

What do I tell an Ignoramus?

So you are even a job seeker who would sooner push drugs himself hence his reason for being antagonistic of the presidency rather than berate his compatriots who give him a bad name.

You need to change your ways.

You don't go online insulting everybody just because it is an anonymous forum as you take that character with you even outside the cybersphere.

Grow up and do something productive with your life.

For your info, Credit cards in Nigeria are usually denominated in Naira so please can you tell how this policy is an abandonment of the currency?

Believe me the government would rather revoke the licence of recalcitrant airlines than bend to their wishes of denouncing our own currency.

By the way, what have you done to help your economy, your environment or your family?

The way some people comment on Nairaland these days,is enough to confirm that Nigerian Education is at rock bottom, some folks post comments like kindergartens.
From the thread how can you assume that Emirates made this decision, cause of repatriation of funds? When Emirates connects Nigerians to over 150 destinations .So why just brazil? if its about repatriation of funds. You need to know how much these drug couriers cost the airline annually due to their shameful activities, and they keep giving Nigeria a bad image...Learn to deal with the real issues and stop finding lame excuses for everything...this is what has led Nigeria to its current state... sad sad :- undecided

You are wrong once again, it is not all credit cards in Nigerian that are dominated in local currencies otherwise known as naira, there is wat is called "Dollar Masters Card" if u have a dom account u are entitled to have it, and u spend on dollar currency using the card, u must have a dom account to own it, so get ur facts right, gentleman!
