Bring back the post ume. This very system is a big poo. I really don't know why Nigeria always prefer going backward. This system is archaic and should be scrapped immediately.

The foolish and brainless minister said universities are making fraudulent money from post ume hence the cancellation. But this year universities made better and cool cash from the so called yeye screening. A school like uniben that did normal screening which candidates paid 3,500 and those that were not selected were asked to go an apply for supplementary admission which they have to pay another 4,500 in order to be screened. This country is a hell-hole I swear. Nothing works in a country called Nigeria.

They conduct admission on the so called fraudulent waec and jamb results. Just watch and see the way malpractice will increase by next year. This system encourages malpractices among students and fraud in the university screening procedures.

That is what you get when an incompetent leader is in charge of education.

listen to yourself!
Yes, he won't patronize special centre, someone who did will get a higher score and be admitted before him.

The No post ume policy is flawed, and there may be an ethnocentric reason behind it.
Jamb should have been removed instead.

Universities are up to the task right now. A lot of aspirants kept on complaining about the screening modalities. Be aware that the Senate of individual schools are saddled with the responsibility to ascertain the screening method. I have be able to follow quite well the screening methods of some major universities apart from those who had their POst utme before the declaration of its cancellation.

This is a period where students will sit back and progress both in utme and ssce. It's a 50:50 allocation. This means it is purely impartial. I will be able to mention some schools and relate it well to how they conducted their screening.
Candidates cry that they pay for online registration when no exam was conducted. Are you aware that some people will handle the screening and there are changes for use of the portal? So why wouldn't you pay? I clearly remember that I advocated for a pegged price which was adopted and a complaint platform which is available. Post Utme was a way of defrauding the people and there could be manipulation. High prices yet not development in the schools? When you write post utme and your ssce is still a factor to consider, then why go for post utme at all? We have got to complain this period because it started this year but next year, there would be a better turnaround.

University of Ilorin

University of Ilorin, the better by far, called for registration and later released admission list. Candidates complain of incredibility. I will say, the mentality we have from the onset that admission is gotten when you are long-legged is what is causing the psychological misunderstanding of the entire process. University of Ilorin admitted students based on merit, catchment and how competitive the course could be. If you applied for engineering course with 200 and c6 you may be dropped but with such score for sociology, you may be admitted.
Meanwhile, supplementary list is not yet out.

University of Lagos
This university kindly called for registration, used a 50:50 jamb ssce ratio. With a 10-9-8-7 scoring system. The result was released then cut off marks then merit list. Interestingly, no much complaints were laid concerning the process except denying Neco students admission. There were laid down rules stating that results released after the deadline will not be acceptable. I will say Unilag screening method was fair enough. Supplementary list still awaited.

University of Ibadan

Though cut off mark is yet to be out so no list yet. University of Ibadan took time before calling candidates which means they were looking for right method to use not to go against the FG directive. The University used 50:50 ratio but WITh 6-5-4-3 Method. This is fair enough but people who couldn't get up to fifty will be disqualified automatically. You should know University of Ibadan is full and strict for being the best university in Nigeria. Quacks can not be admitted. Federal Universities can not accept what state or private Universities accept. Students aspiring for UI, Unilag, Unizik, UNN, OAU, Futa, Funaab, should know they have to over read.

Why should you pass jamb and fail ssce or why should you pass ssce and fail jamb? They are not complementary. That was the case back then when students just want to have at least c6 to qualify.

What will be its effect on malpractice?

Our exam bodies are coming up with anti cheating techniques and I assure you that candidates who PATRIONISE special centres are only wasting time and money as there's nothing like special centres again. A special centre that couldn't produce best WAEC candidate? Or have a subject cancelled? Or have all cancelled? You have reasons to shun special centres and prepare well.

My advice

Nigeria is tired of hearing that graduates are unfit for employment. I wonder why a Corps member can not just defend results? It will surely tell when you get your results through dubious means. Get it right today and see the reason why our educational system is on the right path.

This method would have made sense only if jamb was fair
I don't expect you to understand because you are not an aspirant
Cheers to all aspirants that were in support of the cancellation. grin

This system should be the worst fg could have thought. No consultation. Ui used this system but dropped it because half of the students admitted were always advised to withdraw....And Ui started using post utme as the major determiner for your admission slot...

This system could never be better....and I CNT blame this stupid lawmakers when their "shiren" don't need to suffer for anything....patapata they send them abroad....

They better change this stupid change...

Is this a joke ?
Telling someone not to patronise special centres.

How has, "don't drink and drive", "don't overspeed"
and "don't traffic drugs" stop people from engaging
in those activities ?

Meanwhile, I believe the scrapping of Post-UTME is
the worst thing to ever happened to our tertiary
education system as these will give an unfair edge to
special centre students who in turn would likely struggle
through the university , eventually adding to the "half-baked"
graduates population that are being churned out by our tertiary
institutions.

Special centres exist even if you deny it.

It was indeed a rash ,ill thought ( if there is anything as such) policy.
Back den when i gained admission to AAUA, it was with no help, i mean zero help,i didnt even have exceptional results but the laid rules n system of selecting students was followed .
This is total nonsense , now u buy admission into various schools in Nigeria, by next year it will b a booming market for special centers .
Some were jumping n jubilating den but i told them very soon ,ur eye go clear.
I have 19 fresher in my villa ,just to prove my point i asked each n every one of them,How much did u or ur parent paid for ur admission apart from the putme fee then ? All the reply was nothing . The highest bidder wins now.

Cancellation of post utme is indeed a great curse and backwardness to our educational system. dis has really given d schools d free will to involve themselves in a lot of shaddy deals because student can't assess themselves to know if they'll be given admission or not. beside, d malpractice that we've been experiencing in waec, neck and GCE go be child's play compared to d type of malpractices dis new system has introduced.
did you hear any school opposing d new system? because d tin really favored d schools. adamu adamu has succeeded in taking Nigerian schools to d pit. so sad!

I quite understand you. But the real thing is that cancellation of results will be on the increase and I hope there will be no form of protests against waec and Neco in later years

I was able to go through comment and I saw a lot still complaining. I will like to ask those who got their o level years back the reason why they couldn't gain admission then. Right before introduction of post utme, what was in place? Now that THe authencity LF jamb results are confirmed, then why still embark on fraudulent post utme? Ghana for example, have no exam apart from Waec ssce and they just need qualifications in their required subjects. Here, we have ssce, utme, and there should be post utme again? This is just unfair to THe psychological set up of candidates. I only fault the process in the aspect of information dissemination. This should have been earlier said or communicated before going on the exam at all

I am really suprised at your comment.I dont think scrapping of Post UME has anything to do with increasing exam malpractice.WAEC exams have been for ages before Post UME came and i knew Post UME will leave on a good day.If this lecturers are crying because of its clousure, its simply because they just lost a source of income. This is a Good develpoment. They shld stop stressing Nigerian students.I wish NYSC will be scrapped too.
