Hi Everyone,

I've been keeping tabs on your experiences (Justwise and co.) for over 3 years, I admire your bravery responses, actions;more power to your elbow.

Justwise,I will appreciate if you could please help me out with below;

I was on a 3-year- visa to study for a BA course. I finished my 2nd year in 2015 and fortunately, there was an opportunity for every student on that course to go for a year placement(full-time) not excluding monthly reports to show your attendance in the Uni. But before embarking on the internship, I asked the University about the renewal of my visa as it expires end of October 2016,they responded that it's the University's responsibility to issue me CAS in order to enrol for my final year. Bearing in mind that at least I've got correspondence (e-mail)with the University to testify to that.

In a bid to register for my final year after completion of my placement, already paid my full tuition fee, I was informed by the University that due to UKVI policy changes, I will have to return back to my home country to renew my visa(reason-no academic progression). While this was a surprising news for me, I hurriedly purchased a ticket to return home, but unfortunately I couldn't make it down to Nigeria then.

To cut a long story, I decided to withdraw from the University because I can't wait to return next September to continue. In the meantime, other Universities offered me admission for January intake for a top-up.

1.Do you think I need to present a letter to the Embassy detailing reasons for my withdrawal from my previous sponsor,if yes, could it be personal or a letter from the University.

2. Having returned back from the UK, do I need to do a TB test again as I'm putting in my application immediately I return back home(do you think I fall into this category-you lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months).

3. Bank Statement- I'm using my Barclays bank statement(my maintenance fee has been in my account for over 28 days, refund from my University got into my account today,do I need to explain that, and how many days old can a statement last before presenting it on appointment day.

4. Can you also please suggest steps to follow please(Bear in mind that my case is quite different from the freshers as I wouldn't want to complicate anything).

1. Yes Yes and Yes!!! i mean very important, both from you and the uni.

2. No you don't

3. You will be om with that since its UK bank statement but make sure its current one

2. Excuse my naivety, I didn't take the TB test before leaving for the UK in 2013,hope my application will not be rejected without it (On what ground would I be able to convince the ECO that I don't need to take the TB test, please)

3.I'm still looking forward to printing it(i.e a day to my departure from the Country but my aim is to submit the application right here in the UK before leaving) but money has been transacted in and out(please, note that the transactions do not affect my maintenance fee).

4.Previous sponsor-University of ....,current-Sunderland (London campus)

2.Were you required to do TB test in 2013?

3.You need to explain that transaction.

4. Sunderland (London campus) has been suspended before for admission malpractices so you need to make sure your application is as tight as ever

Hi there,
If I were you, I would simply show up at their office at 8am on Monday morning.
October is a "off-peak" period for them. They will definitely not be too busy.
I'm pretty sure you can finish up on time.

As a matter-of-fact, Last week, I made a call to them (Abuja) on Wednesday evening. Used my internet banking to pay 47,500 for the test. Showed up on Thursday morning (8am) left at 8:45am and returned at 4:30 pm to get my results.

I will suggest you just show up - if you are pressed for time.

3. That is the only thing you need to explain..the payment from the university.

4. Explaining why you withdrew from your first course is very important, back this up with email exchanges between you and the university regarding the internship program and what lead to your decision to withdrew.

When i read your first post i was thinking...why did you withdraw, you should have traveled back to Nigeria to get another visa to re-enter.

In my quest for information, I "googled" stuff last month and behold this thread by @Justwise popped up.
I immediately signed up to become a member of Nairaland. I immediately downloaded the Nairaland shortcut for Android (Excuse me but I think I'm right as per the Nairaland Android App).
My timeline:
Friday, 7th October (11:41am): Application Submitted at TLS Contact, Abuja
Monday, 10th October (8:12am): "Your online application has been received in Sheffield, UK. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer"

Tuesday, 11th October (12:18pm): "A decision has been made on your UK Visa application. Your application will be dispatched shortly from the Decision Making Centre in Sheffield, UK. If anyone contacts you advising that your application is still under consideration or that they can influence the outcome of your application in any way, they cannot - please report any such approach to VisaSheffield@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk."

Friday, 14th October 2016 (9:47am): "Your passport and any returned supporting documentation have now arrived back at the TLScontact UK. Visa Application Centre".

Friday, 14th October 2016 (11:16am): I opened the enveloped to see the message: "You Must Present this Letter to the Immigration Officer upon arrival in the UK"
I didn't even bother to open the passport anymore. I simply walked out, tipped the security man at the gate of the building, and purchased the Cheapest flight ticket - Ethiopian Airlines grin grin grin grin grin

This NairaLand Make Sense Well Well....

I PAID FOR STANDARD VISA OH, GUY MAN NO GET MONEY FOR ANY PRIORITY OR SUPERPOWER PRIORITY grin grin grin grin cool cool cool cool cool

Thanks Guys.
