Please Onatisi how true is this
I overheard some group saying that people should change all their naira to dollar because the real shit is about to happen, they said dollar will get to N1000 plus. The funny part is that if people should change all their naira to dollar, what will they be using to transact for their daily activities.

Meanwhile if you are staying abroad and you are not able to build bungalow in Nigeria during this time irrespective of your gender then you need real deliverance because this is the time for those staying abroad to become rich.

That abroad you see isn't easy o.
Yes, dollar is high but dont forget your expenses in nigeria is now double the price.

For example, if u were sending 20k for food weekly to your family, now that the price of food is double, you will send X 2 which is 40k ..

Not all ppl living in abraod are aware of currency thread where u can send your currency to china or other country apart from nigeria with high rate. Majority still send with WU and MG with low rate.

Building materials is now expensive o and they all give the blame to dollar. Cement i bought months ago 1800 is now 2500 not to talk of every other things that the price have doubled.

But still, only the wise and serious ppl will make use of the high dollar rate to tie things down cos most of these ppl abroad are lost and carried away by foreign lifes; They don't even call home talkless of buying land to build bungalow.

Re: Exchange Rates Of International Currencies >>>Updates on First Page<<< by MrTour: 8:04pm On Oct 14, 2016
You made good points, a lot people whom I'm familiar with living abroad can't even afford to send money for house building projects anymore.

Their initial estimate to build a 6 three-bed flats in January was N17 million. Now things have doubled and they require N34 million to build the same 6 three-bed flats.

Obviously its a huge loss to them as they only manage to come home and invest in projects during long non-working holidays like in december.

The problem in Nigeria affects Nigerians in Diaspora more cos they are the people bringing in the £€$ etc.

I know is not easy but everything depends on how you look at it. You miscalculated it, if you used to send $1000 which was N199,000 but right now that same $1000 will give you N450,000 and soon the same $1000 will give you more than N1,000,000 so there is no way it will not be to the advantage of someone sending hard currency no matter how expensive things are in Nigeria right now. Whatever 199k was taking care for you before 450k will take care of it right now with enough change.

Really? When a bag of rice that was $12,000 is now N24,000 and you expect the same thing bought for N199k to still remain? I don't think you understood his point. There's inflation causing sharp increase in prices, whatever could be bought yesterday, you need to double the price to buy today. All you're looking at are inflated prices, nothing else even our budget is inflated as well.

I understood his point very well but it seems you didn't understand mine. Okay, I will take your scenario of bag of rice and every other things been doubled to explain. How about if you also double the 199k, Is there no change left from 450k? Why do you think people said that export is the key to this recession?

Anyway, I have made my point. You guys can take advantage of it or continue with an excuse. That mount Everest is so tall does not mean people have not succeeded in climbing it. You can take the bull by the horns or you can allow the bull to take you by the head.
