Please can you explain how this will affect the Facebook advert payment since this banks do not allow payment in Naira

It means you cannot use your Naira MasterCard to pay for Facebook Adverts. So, you have the option of applying for Dollar MasterCard which requires that you link it up with your existing Domiciliary Account ( or open a Domiciliary account) or use Paypal.

Banks are the problem Nigeria is currently battling with. Banks and CBN push Nigeria into recession and they don't want to take Nigeria out of recession into growth. We are fantastically corrupt. Corruption in our major problem, bankers are the most compromised and unpatriotic Nigerians after police.

you have to change the currency to usd before you can pay. If you use naira as payment currency using your naira card it wont go, you will receive a reply from your bank saying one dynamic currency conversion blah blah...

Re: Why Banks Suspended Payment Card Use Abroad by redsun(m): 8:46am On Oct 20, 2016
The banks in Nigeria are legitimate thieves like the politicians with no set rules. Even when banks like Zenith was allowing the use of naira card for withdrawal abroad, they use to have a different rate(so-called CBN rate) in paper, but in practice charged more than black market rate.

It is pathetic when bank policies can't be trusted as if they are pay day loansharks.

The only bit of this whole mess I don't understand is why the CBN keeps maintaining a wide gap between the interbank and blackmarket rates. I thought we were supposed to be floating the currency?... Why on earth do we still have such a wide difference between official and parallel rates?

CBN keeps forcing everyone to exchange at unrealistically low official rates thereby encouraging the exact same round-tripping which we were supposed to have eliminated by floating the Naira.

Today Nigeria is hoping to utilise the massive diaspora remittances to plug the forex gap, but at the same time, CBN is pegging the maximum rate at which international money transfer organisations like AZIMO, Western Union etc should exchange for. AZIMO for instance exchanges £1 for N450 while the true value of the pound (black market) is in the range of N550-600. How on earth is this stupid regulation supposed to encourage those in diaspora to send more money?.... I think the entire board of the CBN needs to be flushed out cos they are as clueless as the word itself.

Na people like you dey kill naija. So you want the rate to be 1 pound to 600 naira to encourage you to send money home. Selfish Nigerians...

That's not all. U need to go to the airport and see what those bastard BDC are doing. I understand any international traveller is actually entitled to purchase max of $4k at the airport but some of those bastards are actually getting these travelers to do that for them at some token. Corruption everywhere.

So what of the dollars the banks were to sell to BDCs? Did they source it from the Black market ni? These people are not just telling us the truth. The banks stopped the card transactions after CBN suspended 19 banks from selling their forex.

What this meant is that when the banks are suspended, they cannot continue to payout Naira to customers while they have a horde of forex unused in their vaults.

They would end up not having Naira again since they cannot use the forex to settle their bills externally without CBN clamping down on them nor can they sell to the BDCs to get Naira. Just watch, when the suspension is lifted, they will resume ....#uselessBanks undecided

APC has finished this economy with useless policies.

Imagine the wide gap of N470 to N305. Black market and Interbank rates.

Nigerian banks are bastards.
I requested for PTA through Stanbicibtc when dollars was about 350 at the black market hoping to get it at CBN rate of 305.
But to my greatest surprise, after one month and two weeks of request, the useless bank called me to say that they can give me 2000 dollars at 398.7 naira. By then black market had gotten to 470. These banks are very useless and inimical to Nigeria.
