It's easier for a midfielder to convert from deep playing to attacking midfielder and vise versa. Yaya toure was a good example. But from midfield to no 9? Please give me names

You have seen Iheanacho. He clearly stated that Iheanacho's success did not surprise him. It did not for one second surprise me or the City. It is an idea I followed for long. Iheanacho's success for City youth teams happened while he played as a striker.

So it shows the limitation in the topic we are arguing but you choose to argue.

“To be honest I’m not surprised at his performances for Manchester City youth teams

Yet argument galore.

Meanwhile City coaches were talking of making a future Ballon d’Or winner.

Nigeria Coach Blast – It’s All Political,
Iheanacho Should Have Won Golden Boy
Award

Head coach of Nigeria U-17 team Manu Garba has criticised the organisers of the Golden Boy Award over their choice of Bayern Munich teen star Renato Sanchez as winner ahead of Kelechi
Iheanacho of Manchester City.

The annual award for Europe’s most impressive
footballer under the age of 21 is run by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, who will present the trophy to Sanches at a ceremony in Monte Carlo on Monday night. The 19-year-old, who joined Bayern in the summer from Benfica for an initial €30m helped Portugal win Euro 2016.

However Manu Garba is of the opinion that since the award is a personal award, it should be based on individual accolade and not team award, hence he feels his former U-17 protegee
Iheanacho should have won it.

“It’s all political, considering what Iheanacho did last season, he should have won the award. It’s like it’s now reserved for players with big price tag. Iheanacho deserves it” He told
Owngoalnigeria.com.

” As a matter of fact, the world know his quality
so, it’s not an issue that should bother him. He
will win many awards solely on merit. He is still
very young”.

EXCLUSIVE: Red Hot Olarenwaju Kayode
Could Gatecrash Super Eagles Squad But
Rohr Has…………….

Former Nigeria youth international Olarenwaju
Kayode, who is in good goal scoring form for
Austrian side, Austria Wien is very much in the
plans of manager of the Nigeria senior national
team Gernot Rohr.

The former ASEC Mimosas goal king has been
consistent in front of goal for Austria Wien both in the continental and domestic scene.

In the league he has three goals from eleven
games, in addition to the 13 he scored last
season, which was his debut season after moving from Israeli side Maccabi Netanya.

His fine form in the Europa League has seen him scored four goals including the equaliser against Roma, in the last round of Europa League game.

And in the domestic cup he has two goals to his
name.

However, while he is well on course to gatecrash the Super Eagles team, he has little or no chances of making the squad for the game against Algeria, as he (Rohr) has picked his forwards for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers game.

Kayode alongside other players on the radar of
the manager are all lined up to play friendly
games for the team next year, before the
commencement of the World Cup 2018 qualifiers next year.

Yusuf Finally Seals Contract With NFF As
Super Eagles Chief Coach

Nigeria Football Federation has finally given a

EXCLUSIVE: Rohr Targets Akpeyi And
Bosnian Based Nigerian Goalkepper Nwokolor For Super Eagles Duties

Head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr is putting final touches to his list for
Nigeria’s next World Cup 2018 qualifiers tie
against Algeria in Uyo.

Rohr has ruled out inviting home based players to the team. However goalkepper Ikechukwu
Ezenwa will be retained by the German but he
has also made plans to call up Chippa United
shotstopper Daniel Akpeyi.

Akpeyi will take the place of Emmanuel Daniel
who was ironically the first choice goalkepper at
the Rio 2016 Olympics ahead of Akpeyi, but the
South African based shotstopper has kept goal for the Super Eagles on seven previous occasions.

His experience and constant game time for
Chippa United in the Premier South Africa League makes his selection a no-brainer.

But Rohr is also planning for the future with David Nwokolor who keeps goal for Bosnian side Vitez, where he is on loan from Croatian side Rijeka firmly in his plans.

Rohr is well aware of the 21 year old Nwokolor,
and has penciled him for future invitation to the
team, but there’s no chance of him making the
team for the game against Algeria.

” There are friendly games planned for next year and Nwokolor is among those under
consideration. The Algerian tie is too soon but
subsequently he will be called up. He is young
and will benefit from training with the senior
team” a source close to the coach said.

Double delight for Mfon Udoh in CAF
Champions League & awards

Enyimba striker, Mfon Udoh, has expressed delight at finishing as top scorer in the 2016 CAF Champions League and at the same time being shortlisted for the African Player of the Year (based in Africa) award.

Udoh explained to supersport.com that he always had self-belief in his talent despite facing a period of drought in front of goals in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

"It's an awesome feeling for me (to be named
among the nominees for the CAF awards and also winning the top scorer award in the Champions League)," Udoh told supersport.com.

"I never doubted myself in anyway but I never
thought I'll be nominated for the CAF award. I'll
credit my teammates for this and also this is a
feat achievable by God's grace."

But the striker enjoyed a purple passage in the
CAF Champions League this year and his goals
helped two-time African champions, Enyimba,
reach the group stage of the continent's biggest
club competition for the first time since 2011
when they were knocked out in the semis by
Morocco's Wydad Casablanca.

The Peoples Elephant struggled in the group
stage, managing just a win over eventual
champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Enyimba then finished 13 points off the title race in the Nigerian top-flight.

Their failure to impress in the CAF Champions
League, the NPFL and the Federation Cup, leaving them without a trophy this season came under severe criticism which is not lost on Udoh.

"It was the best season for me, because it could
have been better. But I stand to be corrected.

Can anyone show me a player in Enyimba this
season that has done well? None," Udoh said in
defence.

Udoh wants to savour the moment just like two
years ago when he emerged top scorer in the
NPFL, becoming the first player to score 23 goals in a single season in Nigeria.

The Enyimba forward emerged top scorer in the
CAF Champions League, scoring nine goals, three more than Wydad's Reda Hajhouj in second place.

[b]Rohr Reacts To Rumours Of Unpaid Two Months Salary By The NFF

Head coach of the Nigeria senior national team has reacted to rumours making the round that he is yet to be paid by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), since he resumed as coach of the team two months ago.

German coach Rohr is reportedly on a salary of $47,000 (N18.6m), but rumours has it that the cash strapped NFF will struggle to pay the salary of the coach due to the economy problems in Nigeria.

The issue of non payment of salary to coaches has been a problem peculiar to the NFF, as witnessed with the last two coaches of the team and various coaches in the Nigeria national team set up.

Although the coach revealed in September that he is not bothered about being owed salary, as he is fully focused on qualifying Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Owngoalnigeria.com can reveal, that he has not been paid since taking over the Super Eagles job two months ago, a report the manager played down during a chat with Osasu Obayiuwana.

” Salary’s secondary. I am here to work. Even when it’s not coming immediately, I’m not hungry”.

I dnt know if I am alone on this but i have never really been so excited abt most of this English groomed talents.

All the Arsenal kids that played in today's game are not really exceptionally gifted. All them Niles, Adelaide, Zelalem and Willick are not better than our own Kelechi Nwakali, Musa Yahaya, Chidi Nwakali, Samuel Chukwueze.

Dnt get me wrong. I said most and not all.

No game time for Marc Bola.

Wrong!!! It won't stick.... Man utd fans and Non-City fans who prefer Rashford are the only ones who will have that name on their lips...

Top pundits and media houses won't have that name as Nacho's nicky....

True Nigerian football fans won't....

Those who saw Nacho at UAE 2013 won't...

People who really understand the game of soccer won't...

A lot of people won't...

Was Ronaldo de lima a tap-in merchant?? Was marco van basten a tap-in merchant??

What about Samuel eto'o?? What about George weah??

Abegiii... That name will go no where. What a demeaning name for such a young special hybrid forward.

Trust me, most average football fans around the globe didn't watch iheanacho at the U17 world cup. Alot of people around the globe see him from what he displays for man city. Am not sure most Nigerian games is on prime time Espn or sky so whatever he does for Nigeria doesn't get enough resonance around the globe.
And if we are being sincere here almost all his goals this season for man city have been tap ins.
Against Man utd, it was a tap in from 2yards off a rebound. Against Bournemouth, it was a tap in after a benevolent team mate teed him up from 5yards
