The fools on this thread have succeeded in getting us a lot of unwanted attention. Now I am getting emails from Upwork I have not been getting since 2009 when I started on Elance on dos and don'ts. Truly they have started to watch us and I am now having to be uber vigilant in my job applications.

Deleting the thread won't solve the problem, no matter what you do, there will still be some folks who would decide to cheat their way through. Technology is getting advanced everyday, and sooner than later they will be caught. Just try to moderate the thread as much as possible by calling out anyone who posts such information about breaking up work rules.

On the issue of trying to outsmart Upwork and their system, the simple truth is that you CAN'T; at least not for long. They will identify and eliminate you soon. Do the right thing and get the rewards. I still insist that if you do your thing well:
1. Clients will keep inviting you to jobs (This converts faster to offers than applications)
2. They will still offer you contracts despite your nationality or race.

Again, I believe Upwork is the best paying freelancing website out there. If these lazy individuals mess the system up for us, the repercussions will be intense on the perpetrators. This is why:
1. Seasoned freelancers have already established a database of trusted, well-paying clients over the years. Do this if you haven't already.
2. Some real freelancers know where and how to source for contracts.
3. Some others have a regular side business.
4. No other site has more 'generous' clients: Fiverr, Truelancer, Guru, Freelancer, you name it.

Last words. As you strive to succeed on global freelancing platforms, do not hesitate to work for fellow Nigerians who've got some jobs. In recent times, I noticed that, my weekly income from local freelancing is even trying to rank with online earnings.

Please how can i verify my upwork account. I have try 5 of there test which i go 3 over 3.90 and 2 over 2.40 (below average). Am a graphic designer and in my profile i attach some of my work i did for some people but still they keep decline my request to verify me. Please what am i doing wrong. I am good in logo making, photoshop , image manipulation but the responds i keep getting is that they have no job for my skills while in there graphic design sections i see job that am fit to do within 48 hours or less. Pls help me out.

You won't make something tangible on such works.

How can you sell patents to dear Nigerians now? And, he's only paying you based on commission.

However, try your best, storm Lekki, VI and Asokoro or Maitama.

i thought you are one of those calling names and advocating for legit skills and business on upwork. But you are about giving out an account when you don't know if the person has any skills or not. But i was begging for direction on how to approve my account i created few months ago but you guys just ignore it. So na selling tins now? Naija we are better than this.
