I have one question, why do some Christians (or followers of any organised religion) believe atheists are satanic and devilish? I know atheists don't believe in God's existence and this should also mean they don't believe the devil exist too. So why do you people say atheists are satanic all because they don't believe in the supernatural, having in mind satan himself exists in the supernatural realm? This seems like a fallacy, surely. I guess people fear what they don't understand. But my question still stands, why do people think atheist are satanic? I would really love to hear your opinions on this. Thank you. 4 Likes |

Religious people will always have in their mind that if you don't believe in their god(s) it means you are against them and will always think that you we're sent by Lucifer to distract them. 1 Like |

sekundosekundo: But Christians are also guilty of this too. Christians (or religious people) also believe that if you don't reason with them, you're not wise too. Hence the discrimination and prejudice against who people who don't believe in their religious dogma. |

@Richie9093, The religious brain can best be described as "a failed model of the human brain". 1.Remember how they claimed that Hitler was a Satanist? Then they said that Hitler was an Atheist!!! How can an Atheist believe in Satan?!!! Isn't Satan not a god?!!! You see how they foolishly contradict themselves?!!! 2.Remember when they claimed that cats are agents of Satan(the same cats that are known to save human lives) 3.Christians have killed a baby before, claiming it was the anti-christ!!! 4.Christians claim that Superman is demonic, yet I know of a Superman series in which he fought the KKK!!! This episose was so popular that real life membership in the KKK eventually declined by over 70%!!! |

Anyone can have an opinion about anything but people don't have opinions they judge. "Do not judge at all if you judge others the way the Pharisees do. If you do judge people this way, you will be judged with the same severity." Jesus' intent comes out in his metaphor of motes and beams (Matt. 7:3-5). We all have beams in our eyes, so to speak; to judge people for the little motes stuck in their eyes while we have big beams in our own is devilish arrogance as well as folly. Nobody with a beam in his eye can see things clearly. He is dangerously low on discernment. And, since we all have this distorted perspective, we need either to be very humble or else leave judging to God alone. We have a moral responsibility to judge the moral behavior of others—but only if we are humbly aware that we will sometimes be dead wrong and never totally right. We must remember that our ability to judge is limited and especially that we are sinful people who will ourselves, one day, come under judgment. So if anyone chooses to believe it's a matter of choice. |

they are not necessarily satanic agents, just that apart from the fact that, they lack belief in God/gods, most of them have decided to promote the eradication of religion (specifically Christianity here on nairaland) by every means possible e. g by creating anti-Christian threads. hence Christians view them as people who are ignorantly playing the role of Satan, or rather making his work easier. |

To the average religious person around, "belief" in God is not even in question, servitude or followership of the right God is what usually matters to them. They've been programmed to see the world in only two ways, either a person serves God, or the devil. Hence, atheism is such an absurd concept that to them can be only associated with the devil. It is because of their manichean nature of thinking that they redefine, group and classify atheism as some form of cult, religion or way of life that is opposed to or anti- god. Strictly by definition, to an atheist, there are no deities in existence. |
