APC Governors Write Buhari Over ‘Lopsided’ Appointments by zakim(m): 7:04am On Nov 01, 2016

Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have comminucated in writing their complaints to President Muhammadu Buhari on the list of 46 non-career ambassadorial nominees recently forwarded to the Senate for approval.

The governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom disclosed this to State House correspondents yesterday shortly after meeting behind closed-doors with President Buhari.

The APC governors had presented their grievances to the president at a meeting last Monday during which he asked them to put their complaints in writing.

Ortom hinted yesterday that they had written to the president on the issue. The governor also confirmed that President Buhari was currently attending to their grievances.

He said “it is the prerogative of Mr. President to do appointments, but where there is need, we always give support. We have written where we have reservations, and it is being attended to.”

The governors will decide who becomes a councillor, they will decide who becomes local government chairmen, they will decide who becomes state assembly members, they will decide who becomes commissioners, they will decide who becomes national assembly members, they will decide who becomes board members and directors, they will decide who become ministers and ambassadors, they will decide who becomes president. Silly desperadoes bent on perpetuating the culture of godfatherism in politics.

Just like they kicked when the power to nominate ministers from their states were taken from them, this is quite expected. All in all this move is in the interest of good governance. Lopsided my foot.

Am not a Buhari supporter but these governors are not serious.

Did Buhari choose any of their appointees for them in their states?

We all know something is fundamentally wrong with Nigeria and it's the sharing of resources.

If we practiced true federalism where you generate what you spend then nobody will dictate or expect to choose any body for any body for appointment. All man for himself and his resources.
