Funnything is fulfulde is closer to yoruba or igbo than hausa is. They are two distinct languages spoken by two distinct but close ethnic groups.

very true, fulas in the north east have a very strong sense of identity. However, majority of these fulas also speak and understand hausa as a second language. I've been to and have inlaws and friends from both states, suffice it to say i'm claiming greater knowledge.
