I honestly think Nairaland can do a project tagged humanitarian service and help Musa and other people that might need such help..lets organisé ourselves on this forum and those around and within the aforementioned area can visit him with some goodies, spend time with also..and those that might not be chanced can send cash to a trusted nairalander..Together we can make under privileged ones LAUGH

Unfortunately, there's nothing Lagos state government can do for him.

Is he not able to walk?

I've seen one crawling @jakande r/about with shyte, vomit and spittle all over him, begging for alms. About two @ Obalende. I and a group of friends have one of such people that we send home cooked meal and drinking water to, once a day on rotation. (Mrs A sends on Monday, Ms K on Tuesday, etc)

If you can get a restaurant around, speak to the owner/manager about sending him food and water once each day,it will be nice. You can then check up on him whenever you can.

Life's not fair.

Dude I don't understand what you mean by Lagos state government cannot do anything. Haven't you heard of homeless shelters in other parts of the world? If Lagos state likes to copy other parts of the world in terms of infrastructure, tax and the likes then it should do it to homeless shelters too. Indeed its very few that will make heaven.

This is the second thread I'll be seeing on Nairaland this evening that brought me to tears. And to think I was feeling slightly down yesterday because I can't afford a vacation this year, stupid of me. Thank you Op for doing your part!

@Ify, he can't walk... Probably too weak to. Cursory inspection suggests muscle atrophy from severe malnutrition, but I'll leave proper diagnosis to a Medical Professional.[/i][/quote]

Your writing is remarkably fluid.I initially thought it was culled from a W.H.O journal or a New York Times #saveasoul edition.
That's a perfectly fine assessment @the boldened.

I decided to pay Musa a visit after reading this topic and i was moved to tears. He is so weak and can barely stand upright, He's in desperate need of medical attention. This topic has gone far to the extent i met a guy that came to check up on him after reading this post.

Let's all rally round to see how we can give him a better life than what he's getting now.

Thanks to the OP for this. NGOs please do the needful, no point making this guy a spectacle. Just as good people are viewing this thread bad people are also watching and waiting to make use of his body parts for voodoo or to steal from him

Let's be wise, he needs to be moved out of that place

As i couldn't take my mind off Musa all through the night, i and friend paid him a visit this afternoon. He was quite full of life today as he narrated his ordeal. He is from Borno State......Chibok to be precise, he spoke in Hausa and was interpreted by a Hausa guy selling stuffs on the Pedestrian Bridge. He said when the war started, he and his friends two in number left the village with no destination in mind. They walked a couple of days without food and water until they boarded a bus coming to Lagos with the little cash they had on them.

On arrival, there was no family nor acquaintance to stay with, so they resulted to begging for alms around Ojodu Berger. On a fateful day, the Lagos State Task Force came to arrest all the beggars around there and they were inclusive. They took all of them to a camp in Ikorodu where they were maltreated and starved off all the essentials of life. He and his friends were incarcerated for over 6 months because they had no one to come bail them out. He lost one one his friend(kabir) during this process, he also recalled been told his body will be dumped in the Canal once he dies.

As they saw his condition worsened, they took him in a bus and dumped him in the night and that's all he can remember.

We got him food, drinks and some cloths to change into. People around discouraged the idea of giving him cash because he was been robbed in the night by street urchins around the neighborhood. We have also decided to get a nurse to come check him out tomorrow and see if medications can be administered. He's willing to return to Borno State once he's hail and hearty.

I almost got carried away with your literary prowess then the above question came along and I found myself sobering up.
I'm gonna meditate on that today.

If the necessary agency refuses to find him, maybe you should find them on his behalf.

You should be over-carried away... DUDE I good. What you see here is on basic levels. If this guy decides to explode eh, his verbosity will almost be lower version of Hon. Patrick Obahiangbon

What state is he from? Lagos State should give him food and health checkup and return him to his state. After all his state representatives probably denied Lagos State's request for tax relief. So let their states take care of them. Lagos also has indigenes in need.
SHUT UP!
