Pls don't take the yellow n red tab(tetracycline) if you are still breastfeeding. It causes teeth discoloration in kids. Flagyl tab will do for the stooling. Tk care.

I am a FTM to a 5-week old who gets very gassy when he eats..we are currently on Breastmilk and Similac cos my milk flow is low and doesnt satisfy him. Sometimes when he is eating, he would start grunting like he is in pain and scratching his head.

Also he poos just once in three days and its greenish, seedy and watery

I really dont know what to do to calm him down..pls help

I guess its colic. Its common among children below 3months. Try to bulb inbetween n after meal. Message his tommy wt worm water .NOSPARMIN works for me so u can give it a trial.
As for his poop, his might be constipating so give him lot n lot of water. I give my lo warm water first thing in the morning n more in the day. Also I go one scope less as suppose the prescribed scope.
Green poop might be as a result of lack of hind milk so for him to get enough hind milk u have to bf him long enough on one breast b4 moving to the next one.
As for seedy poop I don't think a formula fed baby can escape dat as it's normal bt dat of watery poop might be darriah as a result of dehydration so keep baby hydrated always u will also need to take fluid as much as possible so that baby can benefit from bm.

Ginababy has covered almost everything. The grunting et al sounds like colic. Infacol was what I gave my son and it worked really well for him. I would give him before he feeds. Sometimes in between feeds.

I also go a scoop less than what's recommended on the tin for his formula and I gave by baby water. Around 10ml or so at this age.

His poo shouldn't be green though. Are you sure he's getting enough hind milk and not fore milk? Always ensure you empty one breast before moving to the other.

Ensure you are holding the bottle correctly when feeding him. Always ensure the "teat" of the bottle is filled with milk (please see attached picture) and remove the bottle from his mouth once the milk in the bottle is nearly exhausted.

We can pay to his account individually or gather our money n pay together.
So mamas, what r ur specifications? i.e kids' age range, boy-ish or girlie books, u want books on religion included? Etc. When shld we make our order?

There's no way to resolve this that won't be awkward.

If it's me I'd approach the teacher directly and say straight up that I don't want her eating my child's food will also ask her not to victimize my child because of the incident. It'll be a polite but firm discussion. Should she try to be dramatic or funny then we escalate to school authorities!

For the gas, burp in between meal and after every meal.
For the green poo, you need to watch your sugar intake. I have noticed that any time I take sugary things my baby pops green poo and the poo goes to normal once I stop, so now I avoid anything sugary like plague. I think you should try that and see what happens.

Actually some two year olds lie but I get what you mean.


I heard once that a parent placed two bowls in the bag and tagged one for the teacher, I guess she got the hint from that action.

Hello dear, I experienced same with my son cos he was also on Similac. What I did differently with my daughter was:

1. Change formula to enfamil gentlease
2. Burp after every 1 ounce feed i.e burp inbtw feeds
3. Do tummy times with baby i.e placing baby on his tommy for few minutes. It helps release gas

The result is dat she's not gassy like my son and has regular bowel movements unlike my son. My son could go 5-7days witout a poop! Infact his paed had to use a suppository to empty his bowels at 3wks old!
