My $1000000 advice, if you docs have other handiworks even if it is on the trade occupation list like painting, plumbing, etc, just get assessed with it when you get there you will find your square root as a doctor. Then, you will know that owo Abu le maa fi sabu lalejo I.e, you will do your exams and registration with their currency.
Hope l don't sound like slighting our ever efficient professionals?
LOL, you are quite funny ma'am, well there are other jobs like the ones i listed above occupational therapy, primary health organization manager, medical administrator, welafare manager.

Thats why Im asking Bellong and other well informed member of the group if VETASSES can give doctors positive assessment so we can go ahead, when we get there we write the Aussie medical board exams as there are no centres in Africa to write the exam. Thank you for your 1MILL advice, I ll certainly go with it. Perhaps you can help if you have more accurate info

Thanks

The three alternative to medical doctors are primary healthcare manager, medical administrator and health/welfare service manager. However, the occupations being assessed by VETASSES make them little complicated.

They are generally supervisory role, you will have to convince VETASSES that you became a manager within two years and that your job descriptions match that of the occupation.

With two years of experience, I am not sure if it will pass, as suggested you can try the support service. Check details on VETASSES' WEBSITE.

The company can prepare payslip for her. That shouldn't be hard. She doesn't even have a third party evidence of payment.

What kind of company does hand payment in this age. Not scared of robbers

Well I had the same issue, most farms pay by hand, all I did was go to the company to request for payslips, with the help o of d accountant and the manager and little research on the Internet for acceptable formats, it's doable

Online generated account statement.

Capital YES.
That s what I used and my CO didn't ask any question about it. Had it been I ordered for hard copy from my bank, it will be like 70pages or more. I will:

-spend much money collecting that from bank.
-spend time scanning, converting and merging it as PDF files.
- it will turn out to be a very heavy document. Don't forget document size is stated by DIBP.

The whole point of the story I wrote up there is that since your BSC was from the UK, you do not need to claim any work experience... Which means you don't need any tax certificates.....

Just apply for Assessment under WASHINGTON ACCORD pathway..

Or is it inside Washington accord pathway that they asked for tax certificates?

Yes the Washington pathway wants payroll tax report or income tax certificate.

I discovered that without the work experience of at least 3yrs, I would be on 55 points assuming I have a 7+ in IELTS. results in on the 15th of nov.
so I will need to apply for relevant skill assessment because of the points to give me a 60 point.
All they ask for is my CV,reference, tax clearance.

If you have the qualification and work experience, it is pretty easy. Just follow the assessing authority's instructions.

Please chief bellong and other good people contribute oh, don't let me mislead people please.
If someone has been trained as a furniture maker and got the certificate with years of experience, can such a one try the trade occupation of furniture maker in the list, even when such job is not one's principal job? For example like that doctor friend, if he is into painting (certified), may be learnt it by the roadside during strike but does not take any course related to painting, can he apply?
The understanding l have about has being on the job but with academic qualifications that are not closely related...

Hi all, i am glad to finally make this post. The migration journey for me just ended. God has been EXTREMELY gracious to me. landing in this country with a little less than 1000 dollars in February last year, i have successfully graduated in my masters program, obtained a professional job as an environmental consultant while still on bridging visa, and achieved what i couldn't achieve in Nigeria in 5 years all within a stretch of 20 months. i am grateful to the guidance of so many people on this thread. ie Zenkel who showed me how to arrive australia through malaysia on a shoe string budget of 150k, Boss jennakry who enlightened me on opportunities i never knew existed and others who helped and encouraged me on the journey. i will settle down and summarize some important key information yet to be shared on this forum that will help enable new arrivals find a professional job, and also 476 visa holders looking for extra 5 points on what to do to dodge the english bedrock while drilling through to permanent residence. i will also like to encourage others going through a lot of pain and doubting their decisions especially those who came via school route with their partners, it can only get better, don't loose hope. stay focused, the light awaits you at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks guys.. really appreciate the congratulations..

ehen, lemme begin.

Na speaking dey generally give headache during PTE, here are some tips I got while preparing and followed strictly.

1. Record yourself.. as in,, recoooord.. again and again, in different voices and accents, to see which one clear pass.. See me for example, i get one kind baritone voice... Just one recording showed me that this thing no go work ooo. na so I edit am.. I took the entire speaking section of the exam in a girly voice... grin simply because, as I dey practice, na that tone of voice clear pass for the recordings... Change your accent if you have to,, remember its not a human that is listening. Its a computer.

2. Pronunciation.. Chidike said he spoke in phonetics.... For this our default naija accent, we have the tendency to pronounce everything at the same volume.... nay nay.. no be so e dey work.. at least not according to the tips I read... dem say, you must put stress, raise volume, lower volume appropriately to show emphasis....

3. Please and please dont repeat yourself .. Na this thing important pass.. for each repetition, your communicative skills dey drop.. your vocabulary dey drop, your oral fluency dey drop

3A. Abeg, in the name of God, dont CORRECT YOURSELF.. if you dey misyarn, dey misyarn smoothly go... Content is only one third of the scoring... as long as what youre saying is broadly related to the topic, no correct any mistake o.. na fluency dey drop so... lemme give you one example.. During my test, they asked, Which country in the united kingdom has the 3rd largest population... Na Wales. I know say na Wales. My brain dey think Wales.. my mouth yarn Scotland ... chei.. shocked shocked as I hear am, me sef shock... shocked but I no change am o... and as you can see, e no affect result... the exam is a test of English, not a test of knowledge... If at that point, I said, SCOTLAND, ah, no, sorry, WALES, ... the computer go reason am say, which kind sentence be that? and oral fluency go drop, communicative skills go drop, grammar go drop...

3B. which brings me to the next subtopic. Always complete your sentences.. lets assume you see a pie chart,, you wan describe, your mouth talk say, The BAR GRAPH....... ..... NO CHANGE AM O.... just continue. after that sentence finishes, you fit con dey call am Pie chart from the next sentence... This is because, the computer reads the pauses for commas, and the pause that ends a sentence. if you say, The BAR GRAPH, con correct yaself say, the PIE CHART, what the computer sees is, THE BAR GRAPH THE PIE CHART, blah blah blah..... now which kind sentence be that one? na scores e dey affect.

I dey run go somewhere.. I go continue once I get small free time..

Nice one

Hello house,
I've been following this thread quietly for some time now, it is very informative. Kudos! to everyone.

I want to know if there won't be any issues with the Engineering assessment body for someone who has a BSc in Chemistry and MSc Chemical Engineering, for the purpose of PR.
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by justsaypie: 11:43am On Nov 13, 2016
Well I guess I should shed more light on my situation,

I am a graduate with a Bsc in Chemistry, completed my NYSC, currently job hunting and doing some freelance work. Like I said earlier I've been following this thread quietly, learning from you guys.

I have thought of going to do an MSc in Chemical Engineering, which is the reason why I asked the question about assessment earlier. The truth is I'm confused and not sure if I stand a chance with the Skilled migration program primarily because my 'course of study' isn't among the options in the SOL

I'll appreciate if the experts in the house can weigh in on this and advice me on the best possible way to go about this, do I go ahead with the Skilled migration program (what are my chances?) OR do I go the study route (what will be the outcome with my proposed strategy of studying Chemical Engineering).

Over to you people!

I just looked thru Engr Aust. MSA booklet. See this cropped screenshot.

I think it's your First Degree that they reckon with. Your first degree academic transcript will be submitted too.

Dunno if Engr Aust can assess you as an engineer if you have significant years of experience practicing Chemical Engineering.
What you based your career episode on has to be pure engineering (not applied science).

Your assessment outcome will carry the following:
-Course of study.
-Year of Completion.
-Institution Name.
-Australian Qualification Framework Level.

Surest Bet:
Send an e-mail Engineer Australia. if you have practiced chemical Engineering, state how long you 've done that. I pray they are impressed.
All the best my brother.
