The engineers that certified the plane to fly supposed to be investigated and possibly prosecuted.

You ntie open your eyes naw!

Hahahahahahahaha... That is not true. You're short sighted in this case. Am an independent business person currently out of the country struggling. Am not related to airk unless needing their services.

This is where the pilot skill is tested.. controlling aerodynamics with one engine. cool
Arik are on their way to folding up in naija.
The pilot skill is ultimately tested after losing both engines in mid air and about 100km from destination

y cant the other engine sustain the journey?
Thats y a plane has 2 engines but are needed for adequate thrust, losing 1 puts pressure on the second, causing the plane to slow down, burns more fuel, until you eventually lose the second

Man a two engine plane can take off even if one explodes on the runway, controlling the plane in air is no big deal, even a plane with no functioning engine can glide provided it has high altitude that's probably where your controlling aerodynamics with one engine comes in to play.

only that an engine isn't needed to glide.

He'll have to keep gliding then and use the wings for control

I hate these airline and I really hate it with passion don't really know how to explain it. For a free ticket I will not be on board these flight God forbid. Once flew it from Johannesburg to Lagos and it took over 3 hours to get balanced on air, infact I don't need to explain but I will never be on board these flight

Fuel is not the reason engines refuse to work. Stop fabricating link to arrive at an answer

What if you lose the other engine during flight? The pilot carried out the procedure he was trained for.

I will never board a Nigerian airline (as they are now) for international travel.

The plane obviously didnt get too far and prolly didn't attain required altitude, the single engine would be used to balance glide and thrust to reach the runway

Why is it that whenever an aircraft engine is lost, the other doesn't last long?

see them as they be analysing how a plane can fly without engines. how come u guys arent pilots? reality is way beyond imagination. if given the chance, none of u will be able to land a plane successfully with failed engines.

Of course it can but would you want to risk the lives of more than 100 passengers on one engine? What do you do if that one happens to fail too? If one of your car tyres gets flat would you continue the journey without changing to the spare one?
