To the guy who corrected my spelling gaffe... Thanks The other guys who quoted me with tribal and ethnic undertone, you people need to upgrade your train of reasoning. If you are unable to make a comment devoid of ethno-religious sentiment kindly take note my moniker and avoid spamming my mentions in tbe future. |

Grundig:Why should it be sold? All major oil producing countries have their national refineries which is often times the best in their various domain. same goes for other major industries....telecom, electricity, transport etc. Ibekichwkwu should have resigned if he knows his onions as you claim. His job is to set systems that will revitalize the industry. Why should an individual player perform better than a government enterprise especially in an oil and gas setting? Is this normal? Why do we celebrate mediocrity in Africa? I wish you can make your points as plain as possible without throwing unnessary punches because to be honest I really wish to know why you think so. I'm fully kitted should you think otherwise! |

IMAGINE... you are lying on your bed after a hefty
lunch and suddenly hear a knock on the door....
So u get up bt the bed hits ur small toe n as u
jump in pain, u fall on a bucket full of water and
slide,...as u fall down , u knock over your TV and
crushes down as the electric wire touches the
water u slid on and instantly shocks u thrice....
As u head to the door in pain and anger , you
open only to find a guy standing at the door and
he tells you.......
Hey, I'm registering MTN simcards....

Everything in this country is bad run. Our schools are badly run, our hospitals are badly run, our sports is badly run, our transport system is badly run, our police is badly run, our ministries are badly run, I can go on and on. So why do we think the case pof our refineries will be different? Someone suggested employing young people and sending them to India for training like Dagote did. That can only work for Dangote because Dangote does not have to consider Federal Character when employing his workers. He also does not have to contend with any godfather if he has to sack anyone that proves incompetent or disloyal. These are the real issues with government businesses. I run my own private school. I have the power to hire and fire so my workers work very hard to get good result. Bottom line is that government has no business with business. Government should allow private individuals do business. |

To be honest, overhauling those refineries is like trying to keep a 1960 vehicle in good condition. You will end up spending more money on maintenance than someone using a 2016 vehicle. Why we keep trying to refurbish obsolete refining equipment instead of buying new ones is something I can never understand. TimeManager: |

So what did he do to help the situation. He was the main architect of reversing the initial sale of Port Harcourt refinery to Dangote. And for your info, Dangote has crude receiving facility as part of the new refinery, so he does not depend on Nigerian crude only. If Crude is available from Nigeria, fine , if not he will import crude to refine. This is to ensure high availability of the plant. loopmangoat: |
