Ghana has crude.
It's close to his refinery, so less transport cost than getting from ND.
No NDA or militants in Ghana, so it's cheaper, safer and easier to buy from Ghana.
Makes business sense.
I think, no point Dangote even laying pipe to the south south which will cost so much millions of Dollars. He should just face Ghana since it is more cheaper.

Mimiko, wherever you and your stooge are today and will be tomorrow, you will never know peace.

You mortgaged the future of Ondo youths because of peanuts you asked from Dangote and he denied you. You left Olokola Free Trade Zone like you met it 2009 and chased potential investors away.

I repeat. You will never know peace!
From what I heard, Mimiko wanted a stake/share in the project. Dangote wanted to sort him outrightly.
But whichever way it was, Mimiko played politics with Ondo youths' future.

Asked what happened to the 2008 Gas Master Plan, Kachikwu said: “If the gas master plan was that fantastic how come we don’t have changes in that sector?
“People who did the Gas Master Plan and the Petroleum Industry Bill did a huge work.
These are contradictory statements huh

Mr Minister, the Petroleum Ministry sits in your plate, and that of your Oga, the President.
What have you people done since you came onboard 18 months ago apart from increasing fuel prices and endless "We will", "we intend", statements. The PIB bill you met still remains unpassed.

You characterise your own refineries as "scrap". If an individual like Dangote can muster enough gut and resources to build a refinery, what prevents the mighty Federal Govt from doing the same, under whatever funding arrangement. We hear this same Federal Govt that says it has no money to build new refineries has promised Dangote all the forex he needs to build his private refinery. What an irony!!! shocked shocked shocked

Meanwhile, small Kenya that does not have oil is busy importing cheap oil at current low prices, and refining it in their refineries and making exporting the refined products.

Ghana is refining all the petroleum products they need in government owned refineries. Our own ministers and government officials are whining and running from pillar to post. If they are not in China tomorrow to beg for money, they are in America or Morocco to blame other people and nations for their incompetence.

We understand the clueless, dull looking Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun is blaming the America and the Western powers for blocking Nigeria from building coal power stations. So what stops Buhari from building gas-fired power stations to utilise billions of cubic feet of gas flared daily in Nigeria.

What happened to all the NIPP gas-fired power stations at Alaoji, Egbema, Calabar, Ihovbor, Geregu, Omotosho, etc started by OBJ and progressed by GEJ govt? At least Americans are not blocking us from completing those. When will they all be commissioned and connected to the national grid?

ACTUALLY IT HAS BEEN THE NORTHERN WAY OF LIFE TO KILL ONE GOVERNMENT INSTITUTION SO THEY CAN RAISE THERE OWN, for example, the kill nigeria railway corporation so they can introduced trailer haulage system, and they end up destroying all nigerian roads, NOW FOR DANGOTE TO EMERGE THEY ARE GOING TO RENDER NIGERIA OWN REFINARIES OBSOLETE INSTEAD OF THEM TO CARRY OUT COMPREHENSIVE REPAIRS...
but this same government lied that repairs were on..and that the gejs admin wasn't serious..

So it was still all a sham.. cheesy

The thunder wey go fire this FG dey do press up...this same admin squashed the NNPC recruitment just to put in their own people and to ensure our refineries die so that dangote can dance azonto..

Who will buy a scrap of refineries. Several efforts of repairs have been frustrated thus far, thanks to the NDA.
When did you start hearing about Turn Around Maintenance and when did ND Avengers come into existence? When was the last time Nigerian refineries worked optimally? Why do u peddle lies so easily yet put up that nauseating signature of yours? Get a life and kiss the real goddamned truth while you're at it.

Why should not it be sold? All major oil producing countries have their national refineries which is often times the best in their various domain. same goes for other major industries....telecom, electricity, transport etc. Ibekichwkwu should have resigned if he knows his onions as you claim. His job is to set systems that will revitalize the industry. Why should an individual perform better than a government enterprise? Is this normal? Why do we celebrate mediocrity in Africa? I wish you can make your points as plain as possible without throwing unnessary punches because to be honest I really wish to know why you think so. I'm fully kitted should you think otherwise!

Bros, your reply make sense, die!! cheesy I suppose dash you 1,000 likes for this post. cool In other parts of the world, there are national refineries that are much older than our own, that have been upgraded and are still working fine. Instead of our people to learn how others have maintained and improved their national assets, they keep berating govt - owned facilities for poor performance, and keep exonerating those who should keep them in good, working order.

I weak o! shocked
