I used it for the first time last month, I prefer getting my interest upfront and reinvest if need be.

Only the big players operate in that league. Individuals don't buy OMO the way Tbills are bought.

Please those that have used FBN recently, are customers now allowed to specify their own rate? contrary to the old pattern of compelling customers to go with the bank rate?

Fbn will not allow you to specify your rate, but there is 95% probability that their rate will be successful

Please house i need your help to clarify this transaction
- I did TB:
Principal Amount - 2,400,000
Interest rate - 18.40%
Tenure - 364

my bank debited 1,968,372.04 which means that my interest amount is 2,400,000 minus 1,968,372.04 = 431627.6

I thought that my Interest amount should be 2400000 x 18.4/100= 441600 which means they suppose to debit 1,958,400 instead of 1,968,372.04

Please gurus in the house, i want to know if there is a tax involve on the interest amount or am i missing something in the calculation

NB: this debited amount exclude the normal commission that comes with TB

patiently waiting for an answer.

NB: Please is there any other charger from your bank for TBN apart from commission, custodian and transfer fees
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Jessglam: 10:57pm On Nov 18, 2016
Yea, you can place your bid through FBN. I did in previous auction and was successful.

From my calculation the bank was supposed to debit N1,959, 610.00 and your interest is supposed to be N440, 390.00

The difference is very likely from Charges.

Are they your bankers? I think you should contact your bank first and then share what you've learnt from them. NL should not be your only source of information

The likelihood is that your bid rate could have been changed by your bank. Confirm from them.

I think possibly your bank didn't use your specified rate. Ask your account officer.

@chukyzfcb, I don't understand y u would want to bid higher than the amount u have, how does it benefit u ? Rates r not determined by how much u r bidding with.
