Boyooosa:It is not compulsory for them to have bodyguards, but to some extent it is necessary, like I said before for crowd control when in public places not because of fear. God does not pre-arrange untimely death gor His children, He said His thoughts for us is to bring us to an expected end. And about myles Munroe , don't judge a book by its cover........ Public reputation is not the same as being righteous before God, there are a lot of things we don't know so let's not make assumptions. Going to heaven is good, but fulfilling our days and achieving our purpose of being born should not be sidelined. So you shouldn't aspire to die untimely because you want to go to heaven. If coming to earth was not important, you would not be here in the first place. For the sake of emphasis God is after our longevity not the other way round. |

holatin:There was a time in the 90s, every time Pastor Chris goes to the airport to board a plane, a young chap will follow him around and be shouting, "fake Pastor". He did it so many times.......till one day. Pastor Chris ordered his physical angels to shut the guy up and that's how he stopped it. The truth is that they are public figures. That man that was harassing Pastor could one day stab him. If as an individual, you need a bodyguard, please take one. It's not a sin. |

Watch what u say/post online. They are called PROTOCOLS and not bodyguards. They are meant to direct people/followers of the pastors. |

As jesus christ no get bodyguards why would men of God need one. God will always protect his anointed ones. Those who use bodyguards are not anointed by God. Na dem call dem selves God no call dem. |

If you asked if it is good for pastors to have security, I would say yes, it now depends on what name you want to give it, Bouncers, Bodyguards, etc If they were not having that before, I will suggest it now, when kidnapping is the order of the day. You see too much of everything is what is bad. That is when you over do things. For excandle, sorry I mean example ![]() I was in Gambia in 2000/2003 and attended Winners Chapel. Bishop Oyedepo came to Gambia Church in 2002 and was preaching the second day he arrived in the Church. Right in the middle of his sermon a woman stood up in the congregation and started making her way to the pulpit. The resident pastor was shouting stop that woman. stop that woman and the Church security guys were like under spell , were sluggish and the woman almost made her way up if not for the swift response of the resident pastor himself who jumped down to stop the woman and dragged her out of the church. No one knows her mission. what would have happened if she was not intercepted. Although Jesus did not call the disciples to be his bodyguards but one of them always acted like that was what he was called to be. Even to the point of forgetting the power carried by master, who needs no help from man .Peter is the overzealous man. You remember what he did the night they arrested Jesus? he drew his sword and cut of the ear of one of the people manhandling his master. So to avoid danger on the man of God security is allowed. |

These Pastors need bodyguards for protection as some members of their churches are eyeing the G .O's position which the G.0 too is not ready to relinquish too soon. They need to take measures against weapons of the enemies both within and without. No man wants to die if his treasure is much in the kingdom of earth! |

One thing we should here in dis case is......whatever evri1 here said here are all correct in different ways.. Now ask ur sef dis question... Y is it dat pastors who are still striving to b big and popular or are aspiring to av a bigger church has no body guards.......but d ones dat are wealthy and popular... Now d question is are they both not pastors.....d truth is that ,as men of God,we only nid unarmed pple to help us in d ministry...wen u tok of Paul u see timothy, wen u see elijah u see elisha...wen u see Christ u see d 12...wen Jesus was to feed thousands his disciples were d ones who shared d food not Christ....and wen they were to arest Jesus ,a disciple drew out his knife nd struck d ears of a soldier...jesus quickly rebuked him saying those dat live by sword shall die by d sword....... David said my confidence is in d lord.......in Isaiah it was written .surely they shall gather but its not my doing who Eva shall attack u shall surrender to u.......now pls b4 u guys blasphem d sole aim of d 12 disciples was mainly to assist Christ and to continue after his death.....now do dis bodyguard whom are big chest preach or dy intimidate the weak..........God bless us. |

Even wen peter used the sword onthe ears of dat soldier, jesus admonished him, dose whu live by d sword, die by it.... They were disciples NOT BODYGUARDS |

As true Men of God, called by God as they claim, Pastors shouldn't be scared of anything. They shouldn't have need for human protection when they have God Almighty. They shouldn't be scared of what might harm the flesh. They shouldn't be scared of dying. Is it their wealth they are afraid of leaving behind? God is Alive! |

holatin:Fall into a moving trailer and keep shouting, "no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper". Your statement means we should not eat, sleep, work, employ aboki for security in estates or take care ourselves because, The LOrd is our Shepherd. He said, " Occupy till I come". We're just occupying. The real thing is finally getting to heaven and having a security guard DOES NOT stop you from making heaven. I'm assuming I'm talking to a Christian, otherwise, I've just been bleating. |
