Dry inland ports has nothing to do with rivers in hinterland, it's last port where freight forwarders/clearing agents go to clear containers/goods and services for their client, after the ship must have landed in seaports and onward discharge at the inland ports through land transportation

No sane person will cry that projects aim at spreading development across Nigeria is being initiated. Yorubas have no problem with the development of the east, infact it is good news to them, if you understand what i mean. YORUBAs don't hate....we know the children of hate and victim.

1 reason the port in oone and PH are still not at half capacity. A better idea would be an industrial zone and warehousing facilities of some sort.

An inland port doesn't need access to a river,we can design a man made canal system like the British and Americans have done. Which obviously would be a waste of resources very scarce at this moment in time.

I agree Onitsha is a geographically viable location , but then I think of the oone sea port which is still not at 20% utilization

You did not address the entire post...have we stopped selling crude? The FG should get real with the ND and accede to their demands, they are more than deserving. If the process of restructuring and fiscal federalism is fully kicked off and implemented, the FG will not even need to feature in this cos regions will take stock of what they need and do the needful. There is money! The problem is stupidity is inability to open up more earning sources and maintain already existing ones by the FG as currently constituted. No money yet Mr President is still flying needlessly around...twice this November already... We have an economy which needs an urgent turn around through FG injection into several areas and diversification

Your idea is truly novel if the FG can find a suitable PPP ideally local investors to lead the project that is a great idea. This is more of a project for the state governments to lead same way Lagos is taking lead with its Free trade zone. There is a lot of money and commerce in that Aba , onitsha enugu axis

But there should not be any expectation on FG to make it a prime project or any major funding we already have enough FG uncompleted projects
