Alot of us look for a way to criticise Neymar with everything he does or didn't do. Neymar can be childish, that's true. He can be resentful on the field of play, that's also true. But does that take away the fact that he is a fantastic footballer? Not at all. He is still growing up, and I believe with time his attitudes would change. Heck, Ronaldo would be 32 in a few months, yet he behaves awkward almost every now and then. Does that take his potential as a footballer away from him? Not at all.

Reality is, everyone can never be Messi. As cool and humble as Messi is, he is nowhere near Iniesta when it comes to being humble and cool. I am yet to see Iniesta lose his cool, at least like I have seen Messi in some few occasions. Or do I mention Kaka? Point is, everyone can never be the same. Not in any way saying Messi is bad, nah far from it... Just saying there are varying degrees of humility, and the likes. We just need to appreciate everyone in their own unique way, that's all.

And I hope you know he wouldn't develop as much as he should with Messi in the team. You don't know this? Tell me you do please... Messi owns the team, and rightly so. As far as this team is concerned and as far as the club is concerned, Messi owns the team and Neymar is the number 2 man. There is a different way he plays when Messi ain't present, albeit I must admit this season's wasn't as we thought it to be. What am I saying? Don't expect much growth from him with Messi in the team, doesn't mean he shouldn't grow and improve.


As par the world best thingy, that ain't fair I must admit. He happens to be in the same era as 2 monstrous players in Messi and Ronaldo (CR7). And those guys are miles above the rest to be honest, especially taking cognizance of their consistency over the years. Meanwhile, we should also take into account the fact that at this age of Neymar today, Messi and Cristiano were far off stats-wise. Does that mean Neymar is or would be better? Nope! It just means there are different ways players develop.

Nevertheless, I don't have issues with you or anyone criticising Neymar. Heck, I have said this for the umpteenth time that he has been criticised alot recently, and deservedly so. But everyone forgets that the team generally is bad, save for Messi, Piqué-Umtiti and maybe... Just those even. But why Neymar is the only one being criticised is beyond me. Like sebod rightly stated, we criticised Messi sometime during Tata's season, and honestly, it was deserving. Although alot were on as regards off-pitch issues, but that's a different kettle of fish and would be a matter for another day. I could remember we spared him some criticisms then though, especially with his tax evasion ish. Meanwhile, Neymar has been facing same issues since he got to Barça. Could it be what is taking its toll on him? I honestly don't know and wouldn't wanna speculate either. But then, we should consider it also as a possibility. Truth be told, if we were in his shoes and we get to face these kinda issues almost on daily basis, do you honestly think we would still lace our boots every week to play football? I'm not using this as an excuse for him, but just exploring certain possibilities.

Back ro the nitty-gritty... Initially you came up with stats to backup Suarez's form, to say he hasn't been shiit. But hey bruv, stats can lie sometimes and doesn't tell the true story. Tell me, is Cristiano having a great season, an average one or a below average one? I would answer that for you. He is having a below average season, at least up till this time. Things might change tomorrow, but for now, his season is way below average for a player of his calibre. Yet, the stats, as compared to other players ain't bad if you ask me. But how about as compared to the man himself? That's the question you should have asked yourself with regards to Luisito too. Now remember, I stated it categorically clear earlier on that, despite Neymar's not-too-bad numbers, especially considering his assists tally, he has been way below his standard thus far. Did you catch my drift there? I didn't compare him against anyone, but himself. If I had compared him against the average player out there, he would have been very good, if not great. But then, he ain't the average player out there, hence, his comparisons is either with people of his quality or with himself. I expected you to reason in that light with Luisito too. If you do, you would obviously get a clearer picture of what I have been saying since time immemorial.

Bykebyke would attest to how I had complained about Rakitic this season, and also during games against his former team, Sevilla. Busi? To be honest, whether airmark or no airmark (lol) he has been way below his standard this season. But then, it's just Neymar everyone is clamouring about. But why?
