The answer is simply 4, why can't u guys read the psychology behind the question?

The suitcase and the 2 newspapers has cancelled themselves.
The pile of book has been reduced to 4
so check again!!!

Bag=10
One news paper =1
Books=10
1bag - 2newspaper×books
1×10-2×1×10
Bodmas
10-20=-10

I mean show your workings smiley
briefcase=10 newspaper=2 books=5-1=4

therefore you introduce bodmas where multiplication comes before subtraction

so we have 10-(2x8) = -6

update: my answer is -6

10 - 2 x 8 = - 6 (each book = 2, each newspaper = 1, each portfolio = 10)

note: equation (2) contains 2 newpapers,
equation (3) contains 5 books and 1 newspaper,
equation (4) contains only 4 books and 2 newspapers
Your papa train you well.

Bro, please give a better breakdown as to how you arrived at -6. You could mention me. Thanks
ok bros..

Let us represent a briefcase as a,
a newspaper as b, and,
a book as c..

Therefore we have the following equations..

a + a = 20....... Eqn (i),
2a = 20,
a = 20/2,
a = 10

In the second equation,
a x 2b = 20, (!there are 2newspapers in the second equation),
thus, a x 2b = 20..........eqn (ii),
but a = 10,
therefore, 10 x 2b = 20,
20b = 20,
b = 20/20,
b = 1

In the third equation,
5c / b = 10, (!there are five books placed on top of one another and 1newspaper in this third equation),
5c / b = 10............eqn (iii),
but b = 1,
therefore, 5c/1 = 10,
5c = 10,
c = 10/5,
c = 2

Now to the question which is equation four..
a - 2b x 4c = ?
(!note that there are 2newspapers and only four notebooks in this case),
therefore,
a - 2b x 4c = ? ..............(eqn iv),
but a = 10, b = 1 and c = 2,

a - 2b x 4c = 10 - 2(1) x 4(2)
= 10 - 2 x 8
by bodmas, you multiply before subtraction,
so, 10 - 2 x 8 becomes 10 - 16 = -6

Yeah, thanks much bro, figured it out.
