'Personal checks' are the work of 'efficient regulatory agencies' in the said sector..... Rice is a polysaccharide(a type of Carbohydrate), while Plastic are polymers. They will act differently when subject to either 'direct heat' or 'boiling in liquid (Cooking).

While rice will absorbs liquid while cooking and soften and become edible, the other will not and will not be edible. They also act differently when subjected to 'direct heat' with 'plastics' simply 'melting' at a very low temperature and turn to a 'viscous like liquid';

The rice on the other hand(on direct heat) will absorbs the heat for a while before darkening and crumbles which we generally call 'burnt rice'. In whatever proportion you mix them as the essay suggest, will reveal different characteristics.

Nigeria is blessed with 'all year round moist' and 'flood plains' for bumper rice cultivation and also have great potential for 'Plastic Industries' due to high population... Sorry, I'm just concern about the rigour of 'carrying out test' on an unnecessary imported cash crop which we can produce in abundance here.
