Transparency group, Socio-Economic Rights, has sent a letter to the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, asking for him to direly "to choose a free advice to research claims of defilement in the spending of $16 billion on power by the administration of previous President Olusegun Obasanjo somewhere around 1999 and 2007."
SERAP said the demand was brought "as per Section 52 of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Act 2000, and the letter and soul of the Act, and the protest and motivation behind the 1999 Constitution (as changed)."
