The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Mr Garba Shehu has denied the news published by the sun newspaper that the president had ordered the probe of the tenures of Emir Sanusi Mohammed and prof. Charles Soludo respectively as CBN governors. He made the denial in two different tweets today.

Confusion everywhere

Nothing bad in checking extensively from all presidential sources, including the president himself since the false story that was published by the sun credited an unnamed presidency staff as source of the story.

We all knew the story was a fabrication but it's good that the presidency had quickly put a lie to it. The Sun newspaper and other platforms that published the fake news should be ashamed of themselves. The media should publish factual stories after rigorous investigation and not lies that can easily be discovered and denied.

Any news i read about this government, i always wait after 3 days, if there is no rejoinder, denial , modifying, dissociation and even distortion from the presidency before i start believing it.
This sign shows that either the presidency are not operating on the same page, there is disagreement/ confusion, the SAs are too desperate to prove themselves or they are many masters issuing a press release .

I knew somebody would come out on behalf of government to deny ordering any probe.

In as much as knowing that ordering such a probe would amount to witch-hunting, and especially,coming just a few days after the duo took a swipe at the government ,it would ve sent a very wrong signal. I dont even know why I never believed the story, probably becks it was just too sensational nd immediate.

I am glad this is true. Those are two men who say it as it is. I think we need their criticisms, if we are to learn from our mistakes.

Although, witch-hunt accusations should not stop any probe.
