In this case, the one determining factor and question which no news media or even the police have been able to answer is, was the money he wanted to use to pay for the said phones in the car or not?
Thank you! At least he will have an idea of much each phone was worth before heading to the shop.

My only question is how come his accomplice(s) is/are not dealt with too and arrested like him? He may have been doing this for some time now but I do know that pulling heist such as this requires an accomplice...

1. see the store image below, observe it's distance to the road side, How will a sales person allow anyone walk out of that store with phones worth 2 million naira? what if a bike is waiting out whisk the customer away?
i have made heavy purchases at computer village many times and trust me, when you buy 2 million naira worth of phones, the sales person will help you to your car with the phones, especially when you are yet to pay for it.

2. When you need to pay 2 million naira in this recession period, you will never listen to any campaign about getting it for you in "my" car
You will rather ask that he brings the money over first, not even with seun egbegbe's hungry-man looks

3. Someone of that "celebrity" status will likely not head to computer village with the intention of stealing 2 million naira worth of phones.

4. If you are caught in such act in lagos, Thou shall not take my pictures is the last thing on your mind, trust me. you will be more concerned about fuel and matches

5. Lagosians will never "touch you small" when caught with 2 million naira worth of stolen goods, you will receive serious beatings.
Even is they dont beat you as a celeb, they will ALL be nakid including the never-talked-about and free-walking accomplices who tried to drive him away

6. maybe he "pocketed" one iphone during negotiations and sales person figured when they were about leaving and then raised an alarm
during the beating, someone then suggested, lets give him all the phones in the store and snap him.

7. Let's not rule out this being a case of negotiations gone sour, you know when you price something very hard and refuse to produce the cash.
in this recession period.

8. a setup.

I strongly believe that the dude is innocent, and it might not be a set up but a costly mistake on his part because somebody of his caliber in the society can not involve himself in a phone theft in broad daylight, that's just my opinion.

How many times will this very story make FP?

Well, op, u made salient observations.

But, the only thing here was that, the sales boy didn't know when he left the shop, and when he did, he raised alarm and people caught him while entering his car.

U asked a question, how could someone in his sense allow another person to walk away with phones worth 2mill? Well, the answer is this, it is either the sales rep didn't know when he left( seun must have ordered for other products and as d boy turned to get them, he zaaped). Or he hypnotised the boy, but it didn't work out.

Whichever the reason is, he was not a fool to have left without paying or obtaining a receipt, thus, whatever he did, was intentional.

There is no two ways about it.

U said that someone of his calibre is not supposed to come to computer village to buy phones. Well, he knew so well that he can't try such with slot. So he decided to do it in an open market, preferably in a busy shop or a shop with just one sales rep. Wetin carry him come computer village in the 1st place? What was he doing with such number of phones? Ooh, so, he now deals on phones?

Seun is a thief.

A lady who drives a toyota camry (big daddy red) as for back as 2010 and was puting on sharp gold necklaces was stripped naked in emeka ofor plaza, why, she stole blackberry phones, stashed in her pants and bra.

But she was perceived to be a thick lady by people who knew her outside emeka ofor.

So, cut that, society nonsense, it doesn't make him less a thief.

I think this guy is one of his friends trying to clean up his mess,

This is not his first time, when u have different people saying something about one particular person, there is actually some truth in it.

Abeg the guy is a thief end if story undecided

Op, your story doesn't add up at all. How can one want to buy phone worth that amount and would want to go to his car to pay such amount?

Nowhere in the world will this add up. If a good judge or prosecutor handles this case, forgetting his so called status if money does not exchange hands, he should go to jail.

Picking 9 iphones from a store and walking out from the said store, straight with the items claiming that he wanted to get money from his car has no meaning.

What are we talking about here, for items worth over 2 million? Is his car an ATM or a mobile bank? How safe it is to pay such amount out of the store?

In fact, he knowingly stole the phones whether jazzzzzzzzzzzz or none, he stole the phones and was walking away to get away in his waiting car.

People should stop defending him. He acted on his well mapped out script to steal.

You're damn right anybody can steal, but my point is that this dude is well known and his picture is always in the social media for one thing or the other compare to the person you're talking about, so that's the reason why I don't think he can do such a thing.

This is my own take on this issue..

1. Seun doesn't own a store or known for selling phones, why trying to buy 9 iPhones?

2. He was apprehended trying to flee in a taxi. That taxi Taxi was an accessory to robbery. Seun owns lots of cars, why chatter a Taxi to buy phones?

3. Seun's car would have been easily identified had he brought the car to the store, hence, using a taxi?

4. 2 other passengers were seen in the taxi, why leave close to #3Million in a taxi with strangers?

5. If the passengers seen in the taxi were Seun's friend , they would have gone together to the store with Seun?

6. If Seun truly had those money in the taxi, he would have said to the attendant to come with him to the taxi?

7. Who is Seun Egbegbe, and what has he contributed to the society (minus those people he gives money here and there which many people with money do same) that would make someone to try to set him up?

8. No money was found on Seun, and he couldn't provide reason for not having money on him?

9. Illusionists do have power to make you lose your mind for few seconds.. frausters do this every time. You only come to the realization after the deed has been done. Seun might have used this on the shop assistant?

And finally

10. Why deny police have settled the matter when in fact you were arraigned before a Magistrates court and charged with one count of theft?

Just my own run down

This is not his first time, if you know what nemesis is all about you will agree with me that he's a thief. I was working wt a company many years ago, I was defrauding the company sometimes above #500,000 at a go but a day came and I don't know that God want to expose me that day. I defraud them just #5000. and I was caught and disgraced.
this is deep
