We live in a dog eat dog world. People take advantage of others to get rich they easily forget that someday death will overtake them all.

Having said that, its not ideal to invest in a country without a stable government. I will rather invest in a country where I am sure I won't have to argue with my tenant to pay rent. Where I will be paid by insurance in couple of weeks if an unforeseen disaster affects my dwelling. Where I get paid $300- $400 per week for my house and where my tenant will have 24hrs power/electricity, running water, gas, where the value of my dwelling appreciates by the day, and where there is control price on goods and commodities.

With the situation of things in Nigeria, it is not the best time and place to invest in Africa. I would rather invest in South Africa now rather than Nigeria. The government need to put a lot of things in place to attract foreign investors. We still need experts and foreigners in Nigeria if by any means they are sent packing just like Zimbabwe did that will be the end of Nigeria.

Interesting topic but I will rather invest where my investment is secure. I don't want to take a loan to buy a tractor trailer only for such trailer to be set on fire because of accident or street fight between neighboring street. Can anyone imagine how many Dangote's trailer has been set of fire for God knows reason? Nigeria is one of the most difficult place to invest.

Good observation. The white keep coming to invest in Africa because they can access loan with minimal intereat rate back home, invest in Africa with next to nothing due to curruption and make astronomical profit and flight the proceed back home. African leave Africa because Africa is a grave yard of talent. They arrive Europe or America and make decend wages, enjoy basic amenities which is not existences in Africa and they forget about Africa for good. ..... so when are we going to put an end to all this shit our leaders are making us go through since i was born till now it's still the same story ..* Nigeria will be good one day ** When is that day ?

I am pretty sure you have not set your feet abroad or lived there before. Africans do well as individuals and as you know most of us have hatred for one another and always believe in competition.

Policies of most countries make it difficult for Africans to break through. If you are referring to African American that is understood but again you see the stigma they are facing in America and how whites who kill African Americans get away with it.

Don't compare chinese with Africans or Nigerians. Compare other smaller nations that are striving or a 3rd world nation. The first chinatown was in the 1500(in the Philippines) where was Nigeria then?

Forget about Nigerians in diaspora and concentrate on getting the government to better our country. Some Nigerians are doctors in Australia and they earn $150-$250 per hour multiply that by 8hours? Multiply by 364days?
Heaps of Nigerians are willing to return to invest but like i said ealier the government need to put things in place. For those who have decided not to return its there choice and should be respected.

In South Africa only, there are 6+ millions europeans. France which is the biggest European country with African immigrants has 4.5 millions Africans (more than 70% are from North Africa: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia).

In Zimbabwe only there are more than half a million British and other europeans, which is about 25% of the 2+ million African immigrants in UK coming in from 55 countries!

Also, did you know that there are more Arabs in Africa than in the Middle East. And, there are more Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in Africa than in UK and all Europeans countries combined.

Africans welcome all those people without ever committing a Genocide or racist crime on them. In contrary, most of those immigrants have very good positions and social status.

If Africa have to chase Europeans , Asians back home, like some are talking about Africans in Europe, those who will suffer the most are the Europeans ....how can we move forward when you can't fight for your country ,instead you travel out there where your existence is not noticed

First of all, when it comes to investment, I will be the last to do it at home. The few I mistakenly did is a story for another day. If I had known, I would have used that money for charity instead.

Secondly, telling people to make sure they come back with money is the reason our young chaps here get involved in dirty deals just to "pose" back home. it's wrong, please change that headline.

On the issue of home is the best, my brother travel and see. When I say travel I mean travel and enter by road not by window if you know what I mean.

What is life if not to enjoy its benefits. When one has steady electricity, gas, water, good shelter, good car, good and safe environment, caring government, good savings, safe investment, etc, what else is there to look for.

What do we enjoy in Nigeria if not the lawlessness, idleness, laziness and corruption?

I never discourage anyone intending to travel except undocumented travelers. If your spouse file immigration documents for you or if you win visa lottery, abeg leave NAIJA and be useful with your life for once.

There's no place like home!! Period!! Stay as long as u like in any foreign country,at the end of the day,the motherland keeps calling and requesting our presence!! We all need to start heeding the call and quit hiding behind the false security of "Being abroad"!! Most folks at home are making it and are not intimidated or threatened by their folks in the diaspora. The tables are turning,and the sooner we secure our place at home,the better. "Being abroad" is not the end all,be all!! Certain folks at home who've never ventured outside the country are thriving,surviving and well established.
