The good thing about this thread is that it exposed some criminally minded people on nairaland. By their posts, we have known them. Billyonaire, I am utterly disappointed. If I were you, i'll get off this thread and save what's left of my integrity. |

I once received an online payment of 300k into my account on a Thursday. I knew in a second it was a mistake. I tried contacting customer service but it was a two day public holiday and I couldnt through. It wasn't till work resumed that the mistake was reversed. It was big money to me but there is never an excuse to be dishonest. |

one good thing about this thread is that I now know the criminally minded nairalanders. just in case they advertise their services or products in the future, I'll know to steer clear of them. NB I'm keeping a copy of each page too. u never know when some thief might wanna go into politics. then the day of reckoning will have arrived. |

Billyonaire: . Struck a nerve I guess. Good for you. I'm very sure even you do not respect your opinion, else you won't have deleted the silly and totally insensitive write-up you posted initially. Always think before you make any contribution to an intelligent discussion on a public forum. I believe you are in dire need of fans and friends, else you won't be making so much effort to be relevant on this forum. I'm happy with the amount of backlash your comment generated. It shows there are right-thinking people on nairaland. Dude, you goofed big time and henceforth, anything you post here will be second-guessed. Quote me again and enjoy conversing with yourself. |
| Re: Help!!! He Has Refused To Return My Money by Nobody: 3:38pm On Nov 29, 2016 |
striker9:The OP is economical with the truth, the guy actually refunded part of the money and said borrowed to add to it. It shows he was cooporating. Every debtor dodges calls, and again, he had done successful business with him in the past, it does show credibility. In the first place he made a mistake, a grave one. And it takes the nicest people to refund. And not everyone is nice. The whatsapp chat truly shows either the accused is a sincere or is just a very criminal with good conscience. He didnt ask for money so he is not a scammer, you can say he is dishonest. I know you guys think I have online reputation to protect, well, the goodnews is I dont. I am not interested in anyone's friendship here, I just happen to have too much time in my hands and I am having my fun here. |

[quote author=ollah1 post=51481988]Can't you read and understand. The recipient made points even tho it could be lie. Billyionnaire made a brilliant message. Isn't it possible that you are expecting some funds from someone and he uses another account to credit u? Imagine the scenario where by its an inter bank transaction and the sender is tryna avoid the sending fees. What's wrong with Nigerians using their heads. The amount expected could be a little different from the received amount and yes it happens as a result to few thousands added to it by the sender. You and those that liked your comment are just been emotional. You relate everything to scam. He refunded half and he still responds accordingly with him. He changes display pictures (identity isn't hidden by him). What else should he have done? Steal money to refund him with the balance The complainant has taken "reasonable" steps to retrieve money which belongs to him The guy you arguing for is legally obliged to correct the error and he hasn't. Here's a scenario for the brain dead - You go to a shop, buy some goods and then given change by the seller. You walk out and at home you then discover you've been given extra. Not returning the extra sum is theft - pure and simple. Anything else will be dishonest. These are facts. |

@Op, Dont close down this thread o. Even when he pays up, maybe only his details should be edited out. The thread has opened his dishonest eyes now abi? Let other potential thieves also learn when they see the thread later or in future. And let people in general learn to be careful in life. That goes to you too, Op. If not for this thread, your money for enter voicemail ![]() One nairalander even promised to get back your money for you within 48hours or something like that if you reach him to inform him the thief no wan pay. Yepa... fear catch me sef wey be onlooker! cc: Exclusive Billyonaire ....the irony is that you call yourself a billionaire Lolz. Dont mind me. Its not all monikers that portray the reality behind the moniker. I know... |

I expect to be lashed for this. But I feel the accused is not guilty. 1. OP, how on earth did you mistakenly transfered N53000 to a wrong account. Nairalanders, even if it's 5k wouldn't you check and confirm like 5times? 2. You were able to contact him. Did he denied you? No, he didn't. 3. The accused story of a son delaying in sending money to a sick old woman is something that sounds 90% true. I can sense his sincerity. 4. The accused sent you N25000, he complained of not having money. He sent you this money before you threatened him. 5. If the accused is a criminal, forget it. He would have blocked you the very first time you contacted him. But he confirmed you as a customer and treated you as such. 6. You selfishly presumed that he spent your money and cooked up the sick woman's story to you. My God forgive all those saying trash about the accused, and have you heard from the other guy before you start judging? The Bible said he who listened to one side of a story and concluded is a fool. Op, all these is your fault. You made the first mistake of sending money to a wrong account. You accused the guy even after he sent you part of the money. With that gesture, you should have given him the benefit of the doubt. You didn't tell us how many days you allowed the guy after the 25k payment before you threatened him. |

Loisemm:Really, why do you guys focus on my username than the great personality behind it. Listen I have too many followers here and I have average of 5 every day. Even if the followership and the likes were to be bartered for naira, I would have still been a billionaire. People love me, cos I say things other people cant say. Go through my history, I keep repeating the simple fact that I am fucking rich, a billionaire and yet you think billionaires will reason like you ? If I reasoned like you, I would have still been living in my mother's basement. I am a business man and we look at life differently. The OP made a mistake, if I made such mistake I will laugh off and tell the fella to try and send what he can, cos I know he might be hungry. But what I am saying is that the accusers story can check out in court and the OP's action of publishing his data on social media can land him in jail. Fact is fact, and my opinion MUST remain respected. I will NEVER be cowed by an assembly of sentimental elements who think life is religious. Life is not fair, and will never be fair. It wasnt designed to be fair. |

drnairalov:And you're a lawyer. Abi? Have you heard from the accused before concluding? And you're calling someone sick in the head. Who is sicker now? What kind of lawyer are you? You should cover your face. |

Billyonaire:You claim to be a billionaire are you telling me if you made such a mistake with a half of your fortune you will laugh it off? Well not everyone has your sense of humor. You claimed that the OP's action can land him in jail. That is news to me,can you share with us the relevant portion of our penal code just like I have shared with you the portion that that backs up my claim that the alleged action is a theft> You and I are in agreement life is not religious but then do not then fail to back up your assertions with facts and evidence What exactly would the OP be charged with under Nigeria law? |

9jaBloke:I did not delete my message, it was reposted twice, thanks to my big fingers. My opinions are supra-intelligent and classic of an echelon that see facts as facts and not colored by emotion generated by hunger and poverty. Most of you are worried because 53k must be such a huge amount of money in this recession and I agree. But look at it this way. The accused accepted that he got the money and made factual explanation and actually refunded part of it. It shows he is willing to pay back. He didnt deny, he said someone was sending 50k to him and he thought it was the person. And he has forwarded the cash to the old woman. What we are supposed to do would have been to establish if he lied or not. But most of us didnt do that. We went ahead with online jungle justice. And I am saying is that they should go through proper legal channel, and I advise if they go, the OP will go to jail and I stated the reasons. Its just that your understanding of intelligence is myopic when calibrated under the radar of global echelon of reasoning. |

Billyonaire:The op made a mistake, the guy was cooperating but he had the intention of not paying back maybe he thinks the op is buoyant enough to let it slide. The story about a sick woman is nothing but a big lie, since u know the guy is not honest then why try to justify his act ,even tho he returned part of the money doesn't make it a yardstick for u people to label him an hero only after he return the money he can get such dignity.Nobody wanna pls anyone online, we should try to uphold humanity, no more no less. |

Maximus85:If u had followed my posts carefully u would have found the answers to your questions. After he blocked my number last week Thursday, I contacted him two days after, which was on the 26th, that's on saturday. I told him of my intentions to do this and gave him till Sunday the next day to get back to me. He read the message and blocked the number immediately. I created this thread on Sunday the following day which made it exactly 3weeks since I wrongly sent the money. If he had spoken with me and still assured me that he was willing to pay up, I wouldn't have had any reason to come up here to make all these posts. I was ready to give him even up to a month to fully return the money. But rather, he chose to ignore and blocked all forms of communications with him. |

striker9:Since you respond to me nicely I will respond to you nicely. Listen, we can not here and now prove that the accused lied. You and I can not literary prove that. Only a Lie Detector can prove that. I maintain that the chat checks out and if they go to court, the OP committed a greater offense by publishing not just photo but his phone line. I can care less about his nairaland ID, cos thankfully its anon. But let us start from the beginning. The OP has done business with the nairalander before and he didnt scam him, thats credibility #1. Then he admitted receiving the money that is #2. The OP believed those facts. But when he said, I was expecting cash for an old woman for a medical treatment and have given to the woman, we all dont believe him anymore ? What if he is right ? Have we given him the benefit of the doubt ? We didnt, yet we judge him based on the content of our characters. Cos everything we time accuse others, it is actually our mind that is on parade. A sincere man like me would totally believe that the accused is saying the truth, after all he has made efforts to repay. But even if he lied, he has also made effort to repay. After all as businessmen, people owe us money all the time, he would have probably thought one of his debtors or customers has paid his cash and will be waiting for the person to call. Common guys, this is cyber jungle justice and I totally dont rely on the justice from the court of public opinion. I stand by my opinion that the OP is not just careless, he is equally judgmental. He had the motive to bring this up on nairaland from the very beginning and he knows it. |

ollah1:Thank you Jare. This something happened to me. I was expecting 5k from my brother, he needed 10k, I told him I can dash him 5k and look for 5k to add to borrow him. I was doing some printing jobs for a Nairalander. He told a lady to pay me, she paid. Some days later I received 10k. I tried calling my brother to ask him why he sent 10k instead of 5k. My brother is funny, if he now has money, I know he can do it. But I couldn't reach him on phone, as I was trying I received a message on my Whatsapp from my Nairalander client saying his friend ie the lady said she mistakenly sent me 10k. Immediately, I knew the money wasn't from my brother. I use quickteller for all my transactions, even to buy airtime. I returned the money. On quickteller, it's almost impossible to send money to a wrong account. Only if one is too careless. Select the bank, input the account number, select savings or current the name of the account must come up. So, I still don't know how the op sent the money to a wrong account. He should explain. Cos we should invite quickteller to confirm this cos their name has been mentioned. There's more to this than we know. |
