How can these small players excel fully when they charged exorbitantly? Smile sim card is sold for 1k. Ntel has only 4G data facility. If you are in the area with 4G ( you are screwed). They arent fully covered in every location. Land line is dead in Nigeria. The now defunct players(starcomms , multilinks, reltel et al) made funds through landlines but it's dead now. |

Ksslib:We should raise a campaign against Smile Communications, Spectranet and NATCOMS (NTEL), they are the brain behind the proposed data increase because thy saw GLO came with 4G. If u can't compete, QUIT. Say NO to data price increase. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Wadosky:Ntel is still the cheapest by far for heavy users considering that it is unlimited for the 10k price. That means no cap. You can effectively download or stream over 100gb data in a month. Others should bring unlimited plans and see. 2 Likes |

Mr Ojobo said “The price floor is not an increase in price, but a regulatory safeguard put in place by the telecommunications regulator to check anti- competitive practices by dominant operators,”. This practice is common with my dear country Nigeria, where they'll not properly enlighten the citizenry because they are trying to hide something from the same people. It now tells on them how powerful the social media is in airing the voice of the voiceless 1 Like |

Unimaginable123:I mean it, they should go and check the certificate of those NCC officials. Most of them reason like those living in caves. It's quit unfortunate that this country could constitute such an ignoramus sets of people. Thinking of hiking the price of internet data! What a senseless idea! Why don't they think of reducing it. It's obvious that even the price level as it is, is still exorbitant compared to most developed countries. 2 Likes |

AndyMolarAllwel: They do nothing apart from paying salaries to docile set of people employed through nepotism motivated corruption. Less I forget, they are also planning on how to fleece the masses dry not minding that Nigerians are suffering in this recession. So as an NCC personnel, you have two jobs; stay docile while telcos fleece the masses; and further impoverished the already dying masses. 1 Like |

It wasn't the NCC's decision not to to stop the increase but rather they were ordered by the senate to stop the telecom companies no to go ahead with the already planned increase. They should stop tellin u they did it after realising its effect. 2 Likes |

Nigerians be Condoning Mediocrity from Time Immemorial...NCC as a Regulatory body are bunch of Criminals. They Obtain bribe from all this Network Providers at the Detriment of the Common Masses. What do they mean by small players? Now let me pick SMILE 4G as a Case Study.I am doing Business Presently in DAR es Salaam the Capital of Tanzania. And i use Smile 4G as my Network Provider.I Pay 70,000 Tsh For Unlimited Data Monthly. When i say Monthly i mean 30 full days. When you Convert 70,000 tsh to Naira,You get #10,000.When i say Unlimited it means that 8 People can connect via a wifi connection on the Smile 4G Network.Laptops,Ipads,Smartphones.That you guys are 8 does not mean the internet bundle will Expire before 30 days. And we watch movies on Netflix,You tube,Stream Live to watch EPL & Champions league. All for approximately 10,000 Naira. If you all know what i mean. This Network Providers make a hell amount of Money out of Nigerians. The only Regulatory body which is NCC that ought to have the interest of the common masses at heart, have taken bribes to Enrich their Pockets instead of doing what is Necessary.Tanzania,Uganda,Kenya,Seychelles Rwanda & Namibia all have Unlimited internet. But if a network provider in Nigeria gives you a plan and say its unlimited,My broda just watch You-tube for 3 days and you go see say Na Scam. Our Estimated Population is over 200Million People. The highest of these countries i mentioned Population wise is Kenya with a little over 45 Million.I can only imagine how much these people are making from us Nigerians. We need to fight for our right in Nigeria and demand Justice.I rest my Case 10 Likes |
