Odunayaw:
yes ASM can be mounted too...besides our variants is the largest of the type 056 family ..I don't think add ons will cause sweat

Look at the design of your ships, add ASM's you lose your RIB's.

And, again, systems-architecture. You may have to re-wire the entire vessel.

Jlnggy, you're my hommie, I'll eat Pap and Braai, also a bottle of beer with you.

This conversation you and Odunayaw are having seem to suggest Patches689 has been destroyed.

I kinda need confirmation here, don't leave me hanging like Odunayaw?

How have I been destroyed?

Read my posts, we are talking about VLS tubes.

It can be done. That's the conclusion reached.

A conclusion based on speculation is not a conclusion, it is a work of fiction.

You cannot catagorically say they can, you cannot categorically say they cannot.

Because neither you nor I have any idea how the interal layout of the ship is, or how it was "wired".

Thus, do not speculate or speak in factual terms. Because you are speculating.

I was about to say the same thing!! The type056 comes with SAM launchers, they don't have vls.

Both P18 I believe can be fitted with 1 fn-3000n launchers... However I don't know if they can accommodate ASMs like the type 056.

NNS Centenary has a radar module in that position.

I said it can be done, both Odunayaw and Jln115 prove it can be done.

Nobody on this board apart from the guys in the military can speak categorically on stuffs.

All virtually all of us who comment here do is speculate.

No they didnt.

Look at a picture of NNS Centenary, or her sister ship, and then look at what is currently in those positions. They are "occupied".

So, if you want to cut apart the ship, and then completely re-wire her (remeber, military sub-systems and sub-systems have redundancies, so they are wired twice) and then play a multi-million dollar game of tetris (to find a new home for your radar).

Then perhaps.

And that is assuming that the secondary radar nearby has been fire-proofed and that the re-designed hangar can still take the 2-3 tone weight of a missile pod, and that the mounting for the pod is still compatable, and that you dont have to re-code and add more consoles to your combat management system, or even if there is space for new consoles in the command post, or that there is space for a new F.C.R etc etc etc etc etc etc

Please stop behaving like a child.

Henry240:

NNS Unity and Centenary are both much larger variants of the normal Type056. They could, if required be able to accommodate missiles.

This was my original submission on this subject before you jumped in and concluded as usual.

Notice the parts of my comment in bold, was that a categorical statement?

Yes.

That is a strong statement in the affirmative. And no, until now I dont think you knew what a RIB is.

After all this epistle, fact remains that they could still be armed if required.

That's the point i made in my initial submission.

...But you, been you decided no, i wanna have a rant, now see where you have taken us to.

Kenya should have turned down the free heuy helicopters, the day will come when they regret it because if they don't tow the line they will be denied spare parts,.... Also it is an old design a lot of limitations like it is a two bladed helicopters making it less maneuverable,.......

Aaahhh!!! Did not know that....but it all depends if combat systems are integrated or not.....fitted for but not with!!!!

For example Valours can be fitted with 16 ASMs and 32 vls without any modifications.

P18s probably have to be modified if they want to accommodate extra systems and missiles would need to be integrated.

But with modifications they probably can be fitted with missiles.

That's not NA camo(trainer) either. The guys lying a wearing a camo variant from Niger Republic. We don't even use the G3.
