You forgot to mention the part where Afonja sold yorubaland to the caliphate forcing yorubas to run down to Ibadan to build brown roof muddy IDP camps that still exists till today. Today many of your yoruba muslims are longing for Emirates in Oshogbo, Ibadan. etc. Why shouldn't you be called Afonjas?

In order to protect himself from death, he sought to kill the ruler that was after his life, by invoking the 'Calabash verdict against the man. So that king was forced to commit suicide.

Afonja died in the 1800s, but the Osu caste system is still alive in many communities in the South-East. Now, if one of those Yoruba people enters here to call you an Osu, you will start crying blue murder.
