I went to shop rite and saw oranges that were orange in colour but in the market oranges are yellow in colour, why is this?? ??

I think its cuz of the ripening process. The ones at shop rite are imported weeks before they are meant to be ripe
While ours here in 9ja is either kept in clay pot or making use ashes in hastening the ripening process
Hence the. Difference in color

The species we have in Nigeria are different from the imported ones...dats y...and because here in Nigeria we don't know how to xplore different variety of plants, we will keep eating sour green and yellow oranges

Don't really think so, the orange we have is still the pure unadulterated one, unlike some if these imported ones which would have gone through hybridization or cross breeding. Don't also forget preservatives can also be added..you can Google how long some of the apples we do eat has been preserved.
