ACTDA : PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF OVER-PASS AT REGINA CAELI JUNCTION - The construction of the Overpass at Regina Caeli Junction will be a major break in traffic flow connectivity, as the overpass is a major connection between the old town and the new city.
This will enable development activities to move across easily to the other side of town without having to get to Kwata or Aroma, thereby reducing traffic congestion drastically at these two places. Finally ACTDA are thinking like Dons. That road is a critical connection route towards the neighbouring communities of Okpuno, Isu, Mbakwu, Achalla and beyond to Aguleri. Awka is already spreading north towards these towns and would enable the agricultural produce of these places to get easily to Awka and the suburbs of Nawfia, Enugwu-Ukwu and others.

Anambra State : Some ACTDA Ongoing And Upcoming Projects- 3D

The Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), by directive from the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Chief (Dr.) Willie Obiano, has commenced the construction of a state-of-the-art International Conference Centre (ICC).

The ICC will have a minimum sitting capacity of 5,000 persons. The program to be contained in the complex include, but no limited to, a grand entrance foyer with atrium, sub-dividable grand auditorium/ballroom, exhibition hall, meeting rooms, green room, storage, restrooms and associated spaces. Included within the exhibition hall will be a workshop/seminar area for professionals that will be used periodically throughout the year. The model also includes a design development for parking lot, and outdoor areas.

The ICC design is in strict compliance with all applicable building codes, development control guideline for all developments within the Awka Capital Territory as stipulated in the ACT Development Control Manual and complies with all provisions to accommodate persons with disabilities.

OBJECTIVE
In general, the project involves a design of a state-of-the-art International Conference Center to include the following:

Iconic Structure intended to be strategically sited on a parcel of land within the Millennium City, measuring not less than 7 hectares;
The exhibition hall and the main space – grand auditorium/ballroom – will be divided by movable partitions. Meeting rooms may also be made flexible by use of movable partitions to accommodate various number of persons in given groups
Circulation and service -all mechanical/HVAC /electrical/IT service are to meet any code required. Fire safety and egress of the structure will be analyzed in conjunction with the designated programs;
The proposed workshop/seminar facility for Professionals may occupy one area of the exhibition hall.

I know Nigerians never think properly demarcated parking spaces is anything to worry about, but it usually is an issue when you spend a long time trying to wriggle out of wrongly parked cars in Nigeria hotels and some malls.
They should just use white paint to properly demarcate the parking lot. Little things as improper parking and preventing guests from driving out when they wish can hurt a hotel.
