My advice based on what I saw in Dubai, is it not better to fuse business and pleasure together so that hotels will be built around very huge shopping arcades, or office complex, while entertaiment and event centers can also be converted from hotels that can't compete.

The East is developing very fast but I don't quite agree with that direction of development of more hotels and less residential or business complexes.

Sometimes even good projects appear shoddy or substandard because of simple things such as road marking.

Nigerian contractors often want to save a few hundred thousand naira that would have been used to buy paint for road marking. The result is that their work always look shoddy, even when in reality it cost much more to build than those done by international foreign construction companies.
