Abortion means removal of the foetus from the womb.

There is nothing in the ritual described in the Bible passage that supports abortion.

Instead it describes how to punish a suspected cheating woman...if she is innocent, the concoction will have no effect on her, if she is guilty, her belly and thighs will rot. Simple.

No talk of pregnant woman or her baby.

What they hell are you even talking about.
In Abortion the baby must not always be removed from the womb. The fetus just has to be killed and it can be done with a drug a seen in the verses.
Its clearly abortion, since the other woman gave birth as it specified that she would give birth if she was faithful, but wouldn't if she cheated.

This truly did shock me, and when I stumbled across it I just couldn't believe it. Anyway here are the verses
Numbers 5:11-31

5:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
5:12 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,
5:13 And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner;
5:14 And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:
5:15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
5:16 And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:
5:17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:
5:18 And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:
5:19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:
5:20 But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:
5:21 Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;
5:22 And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.
5:23 And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water:
5:24 And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.
5:25 Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar:
5:26 And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.
5:27 And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
5:28 And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.

5:29 This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled; 5:30 Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.
5:31 Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.

This basically talks about a ritual by which an abortion is carried out for the sole act of unfaithfulness on the part of the wife. The process involved sounds more like a pagan ritual than something you would find in the bible, I bet none of you have even read this verses before now. That's the thing, religious leaders will only read the good parts of the bible and the parts they can try to defend, but the truly sick verses are forgotten and hidden away.
Reading the Bible can truly strengthen atheism.

But anyway I know some christians will try to defend this action, aborting an unborn child for the sole act of jealousy and unfaithfulness is truly barbaric. And just to think most people say they get their morality from the bible.

I'll now add abortion to the list of deplorable acts the bible supports, which include but aren't limited to
Genocide, Infanticide, incest, filicide, slavery, rape, misogyny, homophobia and racism.

I now call on the christian apologetics to defend God's word and also the free thinkers to behold.

Why did you not mention me?

Numbers 5:11-31 does not refer to abortion in any sense. Rather, it is describing a method that God allowed to be used to determine if a wife had committed adultery against her husband.

The NIV is the only translations to use the word "miscarriage" and they insert it in the place of words that translate as "waste away". Only a couple of translations even translate (be·ṭen) and (biṭ·neḵ) as womb. The rest use belly or abdomen.

God has ever been n advocate for abortion. If he was he would not have instructed man to be fruitful and multiply.

Stop lying for atheism. I know its good for your health as an atheist but still sometimes push it into a strong room and lock it up

A method in which only the faithful woman can give birth?
The revised version used the sentence
"The uterus will drop"
Not to mention the NIV clearly states miscarriage
Isn't it funny how you rush to different versions when one doesn't suit you.
It is clearly abortion, try again

I have given you the words used in the original context. Do yourself the favor of looking them up instead of lying everywhere. If you see a translation you seem to frown at then go to the original word the translation came from.

Do some homework alright? I am sure you hve heard of a bible concordance before. Its because of erroneous translations like this that made us have the Bible concordance. I have taken the liberty of offering you numerous other translations which translated the words (be·ṭen) and (biṭ·neḵ) correctly.

Again stop lying for atheism.

King James Bible
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
When he makes her drink the water, if she has defiled herself and been unfaithful to her husband, the water that brings a curse will enter her and cause bitter suffering; her belly will swell, and her thigh will shrivel. She will become a curse among her people.

International Standard Version
When he has had her drink the water, if she was defiled and had acted unfaithfully toward her husband, then the contaminated water that brings a curse will enter her and infect her, causing her abdomen to swell and her thigh to waste away. Then she is to be a cursed woman among her people.

NET Bible
When he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and behaved unfaithfully toward her husband, the water that brings a curse will enter her to produce bitterness--her abdomen will swell, her thigh will fall away, and the woman will become a curse among her people.

New Heart English Bible
When he has made her drink the water, then it shall happen, if she is defiled, and has committed a trespass against her husband, that the water that causes the curse will enter into her and become bitter, and her body will swell, and her thigh will fall away: and the woman will be a curse among her people.

JPS Tanakh 1917
And when he hath made her drink the water, then it shall come to pass, if she be defiled, and have acted unfaithfully against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away; and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

New American Standard 1977
‘When he has made her drink the water, then it shall come about, if she has defiled herself and has been unfaithful to her husband, that the water which brings a curse shall go into her and cause bitterness, and her abdomen will swell and her thigh will waste away, and the woman will become a curse among her people.

Jubilee Bible 2000
He shall give her, therefore, the water to drink, and it shall come to pass, that if she is defiled and has betrayed her husband, that the water that works the curse shall enter into her in bitterness, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fail; and that woman shall be a curse among her people.

King James 2000 Bible
And when he has made her drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she was defiled, and has done a trespass against her husband, that the water that causes the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

Darby Bible Translation
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, if she have been defiled, and have committed unfaithfulness against her husband, that the water that bringeth the curse shall enter into her, for bitterness, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall shrink; and the woman shall become a curse among her people.

Young's Literal Translation
yea, he hath caused her to drink the water, and it hath come to pass, if she hath been defiled, and doth commit a trespass against her husband, that the waters which cause the curse have gone into her for bitter things, and her belly hath swelled, and her thigh hath fallen, and the woman hath become an execration in the midst of her people.

This thread is obviously a mischievous and lying attempt by atheists to label God as an abortionist when the Bible clearly shows he is not. I have given him the right translations from about 20 different Bible translations and none of them mentioned WOMB. I have also given him the words they were translated from so he can use them to prove me wrong and maintain his claim that they mean WOMB and not BELLY or ABDOMEN or BODY.

I do know atheists love lying just to defend their worldview but common sense should tell them that its not proper to lie all the time especially when there is evidence to expose your lies with.

I am done here.

Her belly shall swell her thigh shall rot.
What exactly do you think it means?
It was clearly stated that the woman would only give birth if she was faithful.
Meaning if the woman was unfaithful, the baby would not be born.

So when 20 translations say belly or abdomen and 2 translations erroneously say something else you would pick those erroneous ones simply because it supports your view about God. Suddenly you lose all knowledge and statistical intelligence when it comes to God right?

When 20 people are saying the same thing and 2 are saying different what statistics teaches is that the 20 who happen to be more and saying the same thing cannot be wrong on the ration of 1:20 as against 1:2

He already saw it I don't know why its hard for people to just be Honest....he saw it and then edicted it to his own taste can you imagine? He did the same thing with deleman ..bro anytime 4evergod provides a link even if you don't have data go and buy and then open the link to confirm... Even winner01 is another expert in that Area...

I edited what to my own taste? So you no longer know how to use google? If 2 are different from 20 which do you think is more accurate? Its a simple question.

If 20 people come and tell you the same story and 2 people come and say something different would you assume that the 2 were saying the truth or that they may not have been present especially if 20 other different people are saying the same thing?

When it gets to God you become suddenly unintelligent

cheesy cheesy You mean dalaman and you as the liars who happens to be the godson of hardmirror? Yeah we already know that on your behalf.
This Doesn't Even Make sense to begin with..

So when 20 translations say belly or abdomen and 2 translations erroneously say something else you would pick those erroneous ones simply because it supports your view about God. Suddenly you lose all knowledge and statistical intelligence when it comes to God right?
Why Did You Skip The Two?

English Standard Version

And when he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and has broken faith with her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her womb shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away and the woman shall become a curse among her people.

Explain to Us what it Means at Bolded...
