Good shoes. I always say Armani , Gucci etc are just names. I have emporio Armani shoes , bought in Austria, and I also have some made in Aba shoes, despite the huge differences in prices ,if I wear the Aba made shoes, they compete favourably with the Italian shoes. Those Aba guys should try to create name for thier products just like the so called Armani and the rest.

you are right and this model is profitable for now. But they have to start thinking big and longterm, they should shape the market strategically and not the otherway. This current government's policies has handicaped foreign competition, and now is the time to step up their game with little or know real cost.
Apple just recently started accepting Naira in their Itunes and Appstores because they can no longer compete from outside anymore, unfortunately there is no local competition to them.

What the guy u quoted said is 100% correct. I have some shoes bought in Austria for $575, meanwhile , the same shoe is being sold at ShopRite for 35,000 naira. Convert 575$ to naira and tell me if it is 35,000 naira . It was from there I got to understand that those things being imported by those big companies for sale here were actually manufactured here, smuggled out of the country before they are being imported to Nigeria.

You go to big boutique and see Armani shirt for 18k meanwhile, the dollar price of that shirt is &100 . Is 18k the dollar equivalent of 100 dollars ? Hmmmm.

this shoe is awesome. it has survived time.....I still kept mine of over 2 decades ago till about a few years ago n gave it out....If I see my size sef I go buy. It is part of the uniform till date of some schools I know.
