Once elections are over, they are simply over. The nation comes together and move on.
Not in Nigeria. Many political naiveties, still bury their heads in the heaps of the whole gamut of the campaign trash, with still so much passion and hate.
We have had an election in this country, and as they say all is fair in love and war. The elections have been over for nearly 2years now. People should go back to their jobs or find something else to do till 2019. As for me its over, I am done. Period....Dr. Doyin Okupe

I think their problem is they are driven by irrationality. That is why what they are doing doesn't make sense to anyone who has a functioning brain. The irrationality of tribalism is making it difficult for them to utilize their pre-frontal cortex. Do you know that some of them that where complaining that the President has not visited the SE often enough are the same ones threatening to assassinate him if he shows up tomorrow? Our Igbo fellow citizens are not using their brains right now - we must pray for them.

He did not include igboland in his unprecedented $30b loan. His appointments have also been insultingly negatively skewed towards igboland, so how exactly are they proving difficult to please?. What exactly has he done for them that would justify you calling igbos ingrates?
You and your afonja friends better be guided with how you denigrate the Igbo people.
He should go and focus on his re-election. Even if he wins, igbos will just countdown to 2023 when he gets out.

Fortunately, the SE unlike the rest of Nigeria is not dependent on whoever is in power.
Buhari can do his worse, he has been rejected.
Even if he wins in 2019, his administration will never fully enjoy of the support of the south east.
He may not care if we supports his government. But something tells me, he is going to need it.

That is exactly the point, its an opportunity for them to express their dissatisfaction and to present their case directly to him without intermediaries - e.g. all the issues you mentioned; after all whats the point of holding a town hall meeting if he had already met their expectations.
I could easily also ask a similar rhetoric question and ask what have Igbos done for him other than hate to deserve any better?
Yet here is a man reaching out willing to make amends by listening in order to understand and probably prioritise to maybe meet at least some of their demands - and what did do but insult him instead; yes, that's why they come across as ungrateful.

The same Igbo leaders received and feted the Sultan of Sokoto who's the leader of Nigerian Muslims in Enugu few days ago. Today they call Buhari a religious bigot and refuse to receive him.

The theme of the summit is security . Security according to buhari is how to deal with IPOB youths and maintain the status quo.
Is security(whatever that means to buhari) what the east is demanding from buhari?. If he wants to deal with security, then he should order the army from Abuja to deal with Fulani herdsmen. That is the only security threat in igboland.
You would think that the president would be coming to the south east to tell of how he is going to include inland ports, massive power projects for indigent local manufacturers, and quickly repair the federal roads in the east to ease trade and devt in his over $30b loan. But you know and I know, that the SE don't rank anywhere in his scale of preference.
And secondly, you ask what has igbos done for him. ? Well, we are not the ones to do anything for him. We are not his subjects, he is supposed to work for us as a democratically elected president. He is not a king and Nigeria is not a monarchy.
Igbos are not chamelions unlike some groups in the south who claim to be buhari's ally but are currently stabbing him in the back.
We are not his friends and he knows it.
If he want us to help him, he should not insult us.[/b]

The attitude of my fellow Igbo politicians in the present dispensation is becoming annoying. What is adequate consultation for God's sake. What infrastructure did GEJ and OBJ give them in 16 years. Same 'leaders' Buhari requested for a meeting before the elections and they refused to meet with him. I hope the gullible follow - follow Igbo realise that PDP has zoned the Presidency in 2019 to the North; which means that after rejecting Buhari, they'll elect another Hausa for themselves.

Some of you seem to have a problem with reading, pls go check the article again and tell me if security is the only issue on the agenda; besides are you mind readers, how do you know what's in his mind?

Wouldn't it have been better to go there and find out and arguing against it (since it would be a two way discussion involving exchange of ideas; a town hall meeting not a lecture) rather than not to take advantage of the opportunity?

The unfortunate thing about this issue is that Igbos have yet again politically shot themselves in the foot by exposing themselves to the world as to how they truly are: politically naive, insincere, difficult to please and indeed co-architects of their own problems.
