Same with me and I still live in FESTAC, no where is safe in Nigeria and I will confidently say that regadless of what happened this is a 24hr town and the security is better than most in Nigeria.

Festac is now a beehive of criminal activities of late yet there are police checkpoint all over
Festac just on konday , public holiday monday here right in front of many people a gunman

You are right that night life contributes to crime there, but those oil bunkerers who operate along the 6th Avenue canal are potential suspects; other suspects are those fast boys who inhabit 22rd/512rd axis (hotbed of crime).
The Police should spread their drag-nets wide for the suspects.
