more early Christians for you, Clement of Rome, Justin martyr, Cyril of Jerusalem ireneaus, read about all of them and see.... the problem I have with "Bible Christians" is that they all claim to have the Holy Spirit and that it helps them interpret scripture but they have so many different doctrines and denominations based on their pastor's or "papa's" interpretation of scripture.. the problem is they contradict each other and the Holy Spirit cannot contradict himself |

DoctorAlien:While you're searching for your own answer, let me tell you without mincing words that the Godhood is presently composed of TWO PERSONAGES (what is known as God the Father and Jesus the Son today), and that these two have always existed from the beginning. The trinity is nothing but a pagan doctrine borrowed from the heathens by the catholic church- a den of demons! |

So you believe in a Godhood of Father and Son but not the Holy Spirit... there are some who would call that pagan also... the Holy Spirit is God's "breath" see John 20: 22 Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. if according to you.. the Son Jesus is God, then his breath (the Holy Spirit) should also be God since it is part of him.. Just like we can't call your breath apart from you or call it another Person.... Besides that the Holy Spirit is refered to not as a thing but as a Person in scriptures given the title "HE" see John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, who will stay with you forever. 17 HE is the Spirit, who reveals the truth about God. The world cannot receive HIM, because it cannot see HIM or know HIM. But you know HIM, because HE remains with you and is in you. John 15:26 “The HELPER will come—THE SPIRIT, who reveals the truth about God and who comes from the Father. I will send HIM to you from the Father, and HE will speak about me. John 16:7 But I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I go away, because if I do not go, the Helper will not come to you. But if I do go away, then I will send HIM to you. 8 And when HE comes, HE will prove to the people of the world that they are wrong about sin and about what is right and about God's judgment. If you think the Holy Spirit is a Force when from Jesus words HE Is a PERSON then OYO for you Let me end with Paul 's greeting, where He Uses the true Godhead, the TRINITY to sign out 2 cor 13: 13 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. P.S. I WENT TO WINNERS I HEARD A PASTOR PRAY IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.... Unless that is a DEN OF DEMONS TOO |

easymancfc:You've rightly identified the Holy Spirit as God's breath- God's Spirit. Why ain't you satisfied with just that understanding- must you separate it from the owner and called it a third Person? Understand! John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". Here, we see that the Bible records TWO PERSONAGES called God as what existed in the beginning before any other thing that was created. Plain! The question is: If there was a separate God in the Person of the Holy Spirit, why was it not identified alongside these TWO PERSONAGES- was the third Person that inconsequential- or did its own existence came later on ![]() Besides that the Holy Spirit is refered to not as a thing but as a Person in scriptures given the title "HE" seeSo because the Holy Spirit is called "HE", it has become rocket science for you to understand ![]() John 4:24: "God is spirit...". Here, we understand that God is a Spirit Being. So therefore, it is no mystery then that His Spirit is called "HE" since God Himself is composed of spirit! Yes! The Holy Spirit as emanating from God- God's eternal spirit, is simply God Himself! (note: not as a separate or third Person). God is the owner of the Holy Spirit! Why is it so difficult to understand ![]() If you think the Holy Spirit is a Force when from Jesus words HE Is a PERSON then OYO for youI'm not thinking of it as a FORCE, the scripture says so. Psalm 104:30, "When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth" Here, we see that the Holy Spirit is God's driving FORCE- what He uses to accomplish His will. It is God's medium of communicating His will to His people. This is the work of the Holy Spirit! Let me end with Paul 's greeting, where He Uses the true Godhead, the TRINITY to sign outOh really... you mean Paul was establishing the TRINITY when he sends this greetings My brother, what happen in all of his salutations here: (Romans 1:7, 1 Corinth. 1:2-3, 2 Corinth 1:1-2, Galatians 1:1-3, Ephesian 1:1-2, Philippians 1:1-2, Colossians 1:1-2, Thessalonians 1:1, 2 Thessalonians 1:1-2, 1 Timothy 1:1-2, 2 Timothy 1:1-2, Titus 1:1-4, Philemon 1:1-3)?In all of these salutations of Paul above, no where is the third person of the trinity mentioned. What! How could Paul have done this terrible thing? Does it mean the third person of the trinity was not reveal to Paul? Or was the third person simply inconsequential? Why was all the greetings in the name of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ? Brother, these questions begs for answers. P.S. I WENT TO WINNERS I HEARD A PASTOR PRAY IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.... Unless that is a DEN OF DEMONS TOORevelation 17:5, "...Babylon the great, mother of harlots...". Do you know what this name of mystery is- who is Babylon and her harlot daughters My brother, you need to learn independently and extensively! |

The point is the Holy Spirit is God... Just as your Spirit is you... and He is not the Father... Just like Jesus is not the Father The Holy Spirit is not the Father because He is Spoken of differently from the Father, from my first reply Jesus says that the Father will send the Comforter (John 14,15 and 16)... He could have just said the Father will send himself here the Holy Spirit talks of the Father separately from himself among others Hebrews 3:7-10..Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, when you hear HIS (THE FATHER ) voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their hearts; they have not known my ways.’" the Holy Spirit knows all truths (john 16:13) (omniscient) which only God knows... Paul asks a question in Romans 11:33-34 tells us: "O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?’" Paul answers that question again himself in 1 cor 2:11"For what person knows a man’s thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God." Proof texting doesn't help your case, Paul said it, you can go and remove it if you can... Concerning the "LovePeddler of Babylon", that can also be used to describe Jerusalem, no just ancient Rome... Do proper studies yourself... |

Ubenedictus:Bro, what do you mean by 2nity Please simply called it what it is: Father & Son!I do not think that the Holy Spirit is different from the TWO; I know that the Holy Spirit is simply one and the same thing as God- the TWO PERSONAGES!- it is their Spirit! For example, if I say 'May the Lord be with your spirit', am I implying that you're two-in-one No! I'm saying in essence, 'May the Lord bless you'. This is because your spirit is one and the same as YOU!Why is it so difficult to understand that the Holy Spirit simply means God's own spirit and not a third Person in the Godhood!?? |

easymancfc:You're simply beating about the bush my brother. You couldn't even answer any of the questions I asked you which I'd repeat some of them again: Where was the supposed third person of the Godhood in the beginning? Did Paul forgot to include him in his numerous salutations or was it not revealed to him ![]() Now talking of the "spirit in man", is your spirit and YOU a different thing- two-in-one ![]() |

easymancfc:The only comment I have is that I don't see Christianity as Religion, but as a way of modeling man's life after Christ Life. |

the Holy Spirit was there in the beginning before the creation... Gen 1:1 In the beginning, when God created the universe, 2 the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the SPIRIT of God was moving over the water. Paul doesn't have to mention it every time... what matters is that he did mention it... Jesus himself gave a command to his disciples using that same Godhood mat 28:19 Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the FATHER, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT... God is infinitely greater than I am.. So if according to the scripture... His Spirit is seen as a person just as the Son is then I believe it |

The Catholic Church is the first Christian Church and contrary to what you believe it was not Constantine who gave it that name... Ignatius of Antioch, A student of the Apostle John and third Bishop of Antioch is responsible for the first known use of the Greek word katholikos (καθολικός), meaning "universal", "complete" and "whole" to describe the church, writing: on his way to Rome to be Martyred in as early as 107 AD (About 50 years after Paul died and about 200 years before Constantine was born) in his letter to the Smyrnaean Church... The Word CATHOLIC means UNIVERSAL OR ACCORDING to the WHOLE... from the Greek word Kataholikos or Katholikos... Look it Up... see the "real" history... Preferably from unbiased sources like Wikipedia |
