Which Network Has The Best 4G Service In Lagos Currently? by DonX001: 11:15pm On Dec 24, 2016
I'm looking for the network that has started 4G service, that is both reliable and very fast in Lagos, specifically around Surulere currently.

Looking for a really fast and reliable 4G mobile network to switch to. (it has to be a mobile network like MTN, Aitel, Glo or Etisalat cos I want a sim I can use on my 4G phone, not a modem).

Currently using Ntel 4G Unlimited monthly service, but the network strength is basically useless where I am....have to more or less hang by the window to get any glimmer of their network.
So I need to switch.

Any suggestions?

The quality of network services vary not only from place to place, but also from time to time. In any case, since you're already locked to your phone, I think the best way to first help yourself is to try out the SIMS of providers in your area whose 4G services are supported by/compatible with your phone's specs (that is, its supported frequency bands.)

Go for Glo or Etisalat. There signals are good in Surulere.

Thanks, that might be what I have to end up doing.
Was just hoping there might be people who are currently using 4G in my area, who might give me firsthand information on current state of things, ....to save me from going through the hassle of getting a 4G sim, only to find out the network is terrible in my location like my bullshit Ntel.
Thanks once again.

From my research, my phone does not support Glo cos of their annoying band 28, so I'm left with Mtn and Etisalat options.
Since you say Etisalat works well here, that means I'll try them out first.
Thanks for chipping in.

Right now, I think MTN LTE is the most reliable. I've been using it since October, and it's very fast.

That's great to hear.
In my experience with their regular 3G network here, Etisalat is slightly faster but fluctuates more, while MTN is a bit slower but more stable, constant and reliable.

I suspect the same thing may apply to their 4G network.

I think I'll just get both networks' 4G sims at the same time and try them out together, whichever one makes more sense, I'll just stick with that one going forward.

Thanks for your input.

If mtn is good in your area. Try it. The downloading speed is jet speed. In fact i downloaded a 1 gig file in just about 5mins plus.
If u have mtn sim b4, just go and upgrade in their outlet. Out ur sim in a java fone then put back in a smart phone so i can get X2 of whatever plan u subscribe for. If u subscribe 1.5gig for 1k. You will be given extra 1.5 gig makes it 3 for 1k.

Do you need to buy 4G sim before switching to 4G network? What happens to your old number? Just confused, I thought you choose the plan and sim activates.
