Everything in Naija is always upside down.. Where every mall is closed for xmas break in capetown and all over south africa. Mall is open in Nigeria. shame, we have a long way to go!

so if mall is closed in Cape town, we should also close our own malls Why must we do what South Africa does stop thinking upside down my friend, obviously South Africa is the only country you have been to outside Nigeria else you would know that some countries still keep their malls open even on christmas.

my sister, you try to learn manner with the way you talk. Mall is a place where you go and buy stuffs needed but nigerians turn mall to a place of taking pictures... And for your information, I have traveled around and most malls in well developed country closed on xmas day, ask your relative in US or europe, they will enlighten you more.
Even; I don't have a problem with the mall opening but the problem is with Nigerian, they see mall as where they can go only during festive period. While developed countries see mall where you go for your daily needs and get it closed for festive period cos the workers too are human and need a break. The mall is open in Nigeria because they know nigerians lack such understanding, only go to mall during festive. you need to move your ass out of that country then you see where nigerians is getting everything wrong.

A mall is not just for buying stuffs my friend, a mall is also for relaxing, there are also restaurants, cinemas etc in malls not just supermarkets. I don't need to ask anybody how it is done in developed countries cos I have been to some these places myself.

Malls are closed in predominantly Christian countries on Christmas day and Nigeria is not a christian country. If you say malls should be closed on christmas day then it should also be closed on sallah day as well. I studied in Europe and yes malls are closed in most countries in Europe cos Europe is predominantly Christian but countries like China, Japan, Australia (some malls open not all) UAE, Kuwait, Qatar don't close their malls on christmas day.

Fine, I have never been to any of Asian country before. And I am mostly directing my developed countries to US and europe. my sister when nigeria get to the level, they will understand, having just 1 mall in a whole city, where, in my local community, i have nothing less 3 big mall. Let try and change our nigerians mentality, they go to mall for pictures, why is it only overcrowded during festive , why not a normal day.

Its not wrong, my sister! western people are more clever and smarter than us, just accept that. if you like it or not. they already organize many shows where you can go with your family apart from going to mall. I was in a show yesterday and it was really nice and awesome. People working in a mall are human and they need a rest as well. this is xmas and everyone need to enjoy with their family after a long work.

It is wrong.China, Japan, South Korea did not get to where they are today by copying Europe and US hook, line and sinker. Of course they must have picked one or two things from them but they modified it to fit their own circumstance and economy and that is why it worked better for them. That's how things are done and that's how to grow not copying everything someone else does even if it does nit fit your circumstance....it doesn't make sense.

I think you are getting it wrong.

One of the best commercial days for these businesses and you have a problem with it.

The malls have cinemas, restaurants, areas to lounge all this in a country severely lacking in recreational facilities yet you want us to abandon it because elsewhere in the world it isn't so.

Please think deeply about it.
